If Ruger ever offers the American Ranch in 7.62x39 with a left handed action I'll order one ASAP. I've been wanting one since they introduced the RH version a few years ago.

So, I wouldn’t mind a Predator 6.5, but I would prefer a different sporter stock. Maybe a lightweight composite, not seeing many options though. Anyway to do this and still use AICS mags?

My SBR’d Ruger in 7.62xCommie is my guilty pleasure rifle. Cheap rifle, garbage ammo, cheap trash panda silencer, cheap leupold. But it all comes together into a lightweight package that’s so pleasant to shoot. And did I say cheap? I’m sitting on cases of trashy commie ammo. It’s my mission to find out how long the barrel lasts.

I have the RAR Preadator in 6 Creedmoor. I bought an MDT chassis for it during one of their yearly sales. It shoots 1" 3 or 5 shot groups. I can't seem to tighten it up with factory ammo but will take that for a 5 shot group. I throw on my .45 Hybrid sometimes and have an Anarchy bolt and know. It makes a difference when prone and you lift on the bolt. I'll reload for it when I get more components in the future.

Quick question as a friend asked me and I don't have access to my RAR AR556 to test.
Can you manually feed a round into the chamber with a ar mag still attached or will it double feed? Or can you only load from the mag? I thought you could manually feed but honestly I've never tried it as I use my mags... |
|
Now a real killer, when he picked up the ZF1, would have immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.

A issue with the ar mag ruger ranch rifle is the bolt hold open tab on the AR mag stops the bolt from feeding on an empty mag (it functions)
with an empty mag you have to drop the mag a tad to close the bolt or you push down on the follower and ride the bolt over the tab |
|

The bolt head wants to strip a round off the mag if it is behind the magazine
if you pull the bolt back 3/4ths you can drop a round in the chamber and send it home with the bolt if the bolt is behind the mag you have to partially drop the mag 3/8ths of an inch to keep from stripping a round with an empty mag you can toss rounds in the port and push them home with the bolt |

When I tried installing it I found the bolts to attach the stock to the action were too short. Called their customer service and they told me to try sanding and cleaning up the inside of the stock. I pointed out what their website says it does but once aging told it would not work. Ordered one size longer bolts and was able to get the stock attached to the action only to discover that rounds would not feed reliably from numerous X39 mags that work fine in my X39 AR. |
