This is a very rare and very collectable mid 1980s MK2 Wilkinson Sword Survival Knife with low 762 serial number this was the forerunner to the much more common CSK185
The knife shows signs of handling but the blade looks as factory and show zero signs of use, unfortunately the included sheath has been drilled to allow water drainage which was a common practice for many "survival" type knives back in the 80s which you could argue is period correct but I would of preferred if it were original.
The knife is correctly marked with Wilkinson Sword and Royal Crests plus the Serial Number
These were made in limited production numbers before the more common CSK185
HISTORY
Designed by the world-renowned UK bushcraft instructor Ray Mears*, the Survival Knife was released by Wilkinson Sword circa 1986. The MkI came with a brass-coloured locking pommel nut. The MkII had a silver colored locking nut.
Two versions of the Knife were available: light satin bead-blasted finish and highly-polished steel, which looked almost like chrome. It was withdrawn a few years later to eventually be replaced by the Dartmoor Knife in 2003, which was a redesign of the original Survival Knife.
What you see is what you get just the knife and sheath
