There was definitely a time what you said would've been true, but for the most part, these days if everything else is acceptable you won't get shit for a brace alone. Still updating this thing. One notable thing for me is the Ergo hand stop; when I saw one on an actual military Mk18, I went for it pronto.

It's sophisticated stuff and it works (i.e., I have to break the action of the rifle to release the magazine but I also have magazine loaders in case I don't want to break the action of one of my AR15s - which are in any case all modified according to CA regulations). I spent a shitload of money to make them compliant - but there is no alternative for me; I will never, ever go featureless: I'd rather sell all my AR15s. Featureless is an abomination. I am, naturally, waiting for a strike on the current ban - which will happen eventually. Until then, I will break the action of my rifles to load them and/or release them magazines. I got a black one when they first came out and it's flawless. No excess flashing or mold marks, all the corners and edges are perfectly smooth. I got an FDE one a couple months ago and it looks bad enough it could be a China fake (but it came direct from SB). Tons of excess flashing and mold marks, all the corners are sharp and rough. It's gonna take a lot of sanding to make it as nice and smooth as the earlier production black one. |

For those of you using the SBA3, what barrel length did you need to get an OAL of 26"? I know 10.3/10.5 is too short, so 11.5" or 12.5"?

During the Freedom Shoppe raid. the same agents measured OAL of firearms equipped with a folding mechanism with the brace folded...to the contrary of previous ATF practices. Because people had a VFG on these, they were ruled illegal AOW's. |
