How did you do the lighting on the first photo?  I absolutely love it!

The photo was taken in a homemade light box, lit from above with a couple of halogens in cheap clamping shop fixtures.  I've got a pretty rudimentary set up, but it works.  Editing then done at pixlr.com

Honestly, I think you could have something good with those first two.  Just a though here...  It would be interesting to see a series of photos all taken with the same dead-on over-head angle, where assorted firearms are all on different surfaces.  The leaves and the snow are really interesting, and IMO work well with the rifles you have.  I'd just working on your lighting.  Get a reflector and bounce some fill in there, and work more at the end of the day when the sun is low.

Because it's actually nowhere near the comp, just the angle of the photo makes it look as if it is. The gloves exaggerate it as well.

I got them back at the begging of May, I think the wait was two or three months.  Then it took several more months to get the small parts that go with it, I didn't get those until July.  Tracking them down was such a process, I made sure to get two, sequentially numbered...

I *REALLY* wish people would stop equating "HDR" to "HQ".  The two are mutually exclusive, and the latter almost *NEVER* involves the former.  There are of course exceptions, but they are few and far between.

If this HDR crap was so awesome and effective, you'd think more magazines and publications would use it.  They don't.

Much to that.

Anyway.  end rant.  carry on.
