The AMG looks cool, of course IF it is $4000, it probably only exists because of government contract waste and abuse (my personal opinion as a taxpayer). Like the $12000 optic on the ngsw- that price is ridiculous (again my opinion) and I’ve looked through one of the ngsw optics at benning and the glass wasn’t that great. Not even as nice as Leupold mk4. The sig optic on the m110A1 was also right there and it was a lot nicer glass (I have no idea what the sig optic is priced at).
Griffin Armament has a new 1-10x28 with 34mm tube that is in stock but needs to be released. It is a sfp optic with illumination, that has a mil reticle with a ranging capability similar to redfield art from Vietnam where the power ring reads range in hundreds of meters.
The ring inside diameter represents a human silhouette height belt to top of head at whatever magnification corresponds to its range in hundreds of meters. (There are a few other ways to range targets of different size using a magnification ring number corresponding method).
The turrets are 1/10 mil push pull locking, with 7 mill per side windage with a stop to prevent zero loss, and elevation is ~ 1/2 mil down from zero, and 17 mils up from zero so you don’t lose your zero.
The optic is $450 msrp.
The glass is really nice. The scope could be priced at $900 and it would make sense to anyone who picked one up, but we don’t need to be ridiculous with the cost of the optic.
Mountains mullets merica has a pre-production prototype here at the opening of the video and shoots scope camera at 14:30
