Refer to the very first post in this thread by Doc, which outlines the Block II components. The SU-231, RIS II, Surefire light, and probably even the TD stubby VFG are definitely good to go, but I'm not sure about the PWS...

Troy BUIS have been spotted on at least one Block II in the wild if I recall.

Can that variant use the M203 like the M4A1 version?

Yes, the 12.5 GL/SSC is meant to be able to use both a M203 and a suppressor.  I hear that there are only a handful out in civilian hands and Stickman is one of the few that have one.  DD seems to have no interest in selling it to the public and no dealers have stepped up and ordered a batch.

Gotta decide if I want to put the FSP RISII on my 5.45 caliber upper or on my incoming 5.56 upper. Plus, I have to go to my in-laws because that's where the gun workbench is and I'm going there tomorrow anyway (my Les Paul is arriving there tomorrow).

Serious question.

Is the rail on the 12.5 the same rail that is on the 14.5? Because if it is, you could slap that rail on any 12.5 for clone purposes and be close. You wouldn't need the exact barrel. Or, could you cut down a 14.5 M4 barrel to 12.5 and make that work? Just a thought.

The rail on the 12.5" is the RIS II GL/SSC - Grenade Launcher/Sound Suppressor Compatible. It's in between the M4 and MK18 RIS II. It's the longest the rail can be on a 12.5" barrel that allows an NT4 and an M203. Obviously, the MK18 rail does not have the option of mounting the M203, whereas the M4 rail does.

The GL/SSC appears to be impossible to obtain, unless a substantial order is made (if I remember correctly).

ETA: Pic thread. Note the SCARs have black Elcans.

The M4 RIS II and the GL/SSC are not the same length.  A 12.5 inch barrel is too short for the M4 RIS II.

I think you could use a 13.5 with the M4 RIS II.

I have not posted my complete M4A1 SOPMOD Block II-ish rifle and extra upper because they are not necessarily to specs as I used a few different parts like sights and optic. However, I had both of the barrels cut down to 13-3/8" as this length allows for enough room between the suppressor mount and rail to mount my 7.62SDN6 can. It should be more than fine if you are not mounting a suppressor.

Wow, such luck. My photobucket came back online. SHitty cellphone pics because wife is out of town with BOTH our cameras My T-1 arrived from Larue, but I have another one coming in trade, so I gotta return this one.

Anyway... My block 1.5 is now a full on block ii, I kept burning my fingers and arms on the damn barrel when shooting it, and I had this RISII so, why not? I have another upper coming soon that'll be my 1.5.

Anyways.....

Hot barrel touching my skin when it was hanging on the sling. Also, I was gripping too far forward and burning the fingers. Not good. When the next 1.5 upper arrives, I'll put the 37mm on it and that'll take of that.

Good to see more T1 use on clones.

It would be nice if SOCOM was to ditch the SU-231 and go for just the T-1, Elcan, and maybe EXPS 3 in the standard optics lineup.

I like the T-1, but the 553 is still superior due to the reticle. LOVE the eotech reticle. Only wish the T-1 had the eotech reticle, then it would be perfect

The 553 is sexy as hell.  I wouldn't mind an aimpoint but the 553 is just such a badass sight. I love the reticle too.

Is it normal to place the sight so far back?  I've always preferred it more forward, connecting the receiver and rail..

"Sexiness" should be the least concern in a good sight.. And I'm not talking clones. For those of us fortunate enough to enjoy these guns on a 1 way range, Eotech's battery life and durability are of less-issue. But for those in the fray, in the 2 way range, there are just better options.

The Aimpoint T1 is just so much more robust and durable, not to mention its 50x longer battery life.

ACOGS are built like tanks. Aimpoints are built like tanks. Elcans are built like tanks. Eotechs? Built like a Toyota Prius.

Not that this is a great place to use the aimpoint eotech debate but I don't exactly think eotech are toy grade equipment, especially not the SU231.

Once again, not to derail, but the battery issue is less so with .mil folks.  Anytime I need batteries for any of my gear, it is a short walk away (not even counting the 4 or 5 spare sets I carry).  With the .mil you can replace the stuff before it gets anywhere near being dead.
Also, from personal experience, Eotechs are pretty damn durable to abuse (my only experience is with the 553).  If they were that fragile, .mil wouldn't be issuing them to the guys that use their gear the hardest.
