Any pics of the Block II wearing a AP micro and 3x mag? I'm thinking about going this route for my optics.
Thanks! |

View Quote I think I recognize that symbol, from being at FOB Lane/De Afghan in 2006/2007. I couldn't remember however if it was from the group that was presently there, or the one prior. Is that symbol from either 7th or 3rd group? |

Looks like the VTac version of the Troy alpha with some rail sections bolted on.

More than likely it's 7th Group, seeing how they're headquartered and garrisoned at Eglin. If that's the location I'm thinking it is, there's a really great place to practice breaching like... right next to where they are. |

Alright, looking for some insight here.
I just started gathering the parts to piece together myself an unpinned 14.5" upper. I'm going to be "marrying" it to my Form 1ed CQBR lower and they will stay together as a "SOPMOD kit" of sorts. So, for the people who own the FSP and standard M4A1 RIS II, which one do you prefer and why? I had a 14.5" upper a couple years ago with the standard RIS II and my main complaint was the weight, but I think those are relatively similar between both rails. This upper will most likely start off housing my Elcan and my CQBR will sport the 553 I have, but that may change further down the road and I might step up to a 1-6x or 1-8x for the 14.5". |

Hey Folks,
Just one question : do you know if the mk12 gas block from KAC has been used or issued for the M4a1 SOPMOD Block II ? Thanks ;) |

View Quote I don't have an RIS II FSP, but I use a couple of other rifles that use rails that are very similar. Here's what I like about those: 1. The front sight post is solid and always present in my field of view during use. 2. There is additional room for my freakishly long arms to obtain leverage over the front of the gun. |

First post on the thread! I'm so excited to start this build, but I have a quick question: Would the BCM A2X be acceptable? I dunno if I wanna shell out the sheckels to buy a KAC flash hider/suppressor mount and then have it sent to adco to be pinned, or if I could just go ahead and order the upper straight from BCM with an A2X. Thoughts?

I already asked them if they could pin a KAC QD on there for me, but they said that they'll only pin on what they have in their stupid drop down menu :( They know people are buying those uppers to build block II clones, so why not put the option of pinning on clone correct flash hiders? I know they sell both the SF3P and the KAC QD.

Got the BCM upper in w/t DD RIS II in FDE. Now I'm waiting on a few more parts to come in before I put it together....I was surprised at the weight, not at all that piggish. I'm sure after the KAC BUIS,SF light, TD FVG and optics get thrown on, it may be a different story. Still hunting down a lower for it so, I may throw it on my Block I lower just to run it until I do. |

Well gents several parts all came in this last week so here is the group shot. (LMT ambi lower & Optic)
There are a few changes to be made i.e. the pistol grip... not sure if I will use the A2 or an Umbrella Corp grip I have which is not clone correct but nice. I am also trying out the AFG but will be TD VFG in the near future. Now to get one of those high speed pelican cases... thinking a 1600 but open to suggestions. Cheers - all thanks to those who have directly helped and those that posted so much info in this monster thread. |

well, it was a long fun run but I'm out of the M4A1 block II game. After being able to get NFA stamps, went over to the Mk18 dark side, sold my M4 to fund a SR15.
