Happy Memorial Day ya buncha fruitloops. Sure is quiet in here. Let's have some pictures.

Shall we bask in the glory of my shooting table carpet upgrade? Yes, indeed!

A little scenery...

Gotta have da CQBR bookend :D.

Greetings gents -  making my photo debut here. Finally received my approved Form 1 back on a trust and got to spend last night assembling my Lego set. For anybody curious, ATF cashed 12/03/17 and in my mailbox 5/24/18.

Disclaimer: Don’t all shit on me at once about the dead air brake...I like their cans until I man-up to an RC. For now, I’m the dude playin the dude disguised as another dude.

On a side note, I’m happy about how close the KAC vert and A2 match the B5 contract. That said, I’m not 100% sold on it, maybe I went too full retard on the fde. Might swap out for the black B5 and A2.

Edit: ATF cash date is 12/03/17

Would I be going against the rules if I posted a link to a giveaway I'm hosting? It's not exactly a Mk18 but it is a Colt 11.5" complete upper...I don't want to ruffle any feathers if it's taboo to post such things, let me know. And great build there SgtOsisis

Had the day off work and this arrived. Original Magpul m93 to go on this eod build. Going west coast all the way with this one. Eod used the m93b, this ones an m93a. Not exactly the same, but he'll, it's damn close enough for me. I actually like this profile a lot. The m93b is a little more sleek and streamlined. If anyone has a lead on m93 mounting parts send me an IM or email. (The m93 mounting hardware is much different than the std castle nut and endplates used with the ergo f93. Already checked. I have considered running the ergo tube with the m93 stock if it will work until I find the right hardware.)

Eta- anyone notice how similar the shockwave blade is to the Magpul m93a?

My upper arrived!

I slapped a bunch of random parts on it so I can go shoot it later. So no need to get panties in a twist over the non clone-ness.

That said is there anyway I can remove the stupid DD plastic dust cover and put a real one on without removing the barrel nut? Fingers crossed I don't need to buy the wrench.

Take off the tiny E clip and remove the ejection port rod by pulling towards rear of receiver below the forward assist. It's very tight, but doable. Reassemble.

Good idea. I guess just a pair of needle nose pliers and some patients is required.

It was easier (for me) to rotate the clip so that the opening is facing towards you, then use two small screwdrivers to push on each end of the clip at the same time so that it moves towards the receiver and off the ejection port pin.  Wouldn't hurt to put some tape underneath the clip in case a screwdriver slips, and another piece of tape in the forward assist area to keep the pin from scratching the receiver (if you care about that) when you pull it backwards to remove the dust cover.  As mentioned, it is a tight fit as it slides parallel with the receiver.

That makes sense. Makes me wish DD didn’t use the polymer cover in the first place.

Were they trying to save a bit of money I guess?

You could always just leave the polymer door right where it is and swap to a Colt or FN upper receiver ;p.

That way, no more logo; and if you sell the DD while it's still basically new, it'll be a more or less even trade.

So I picked up a used KAC RAS on the EE for a Block 1 build and I'm slightly confused. This is my first RAS and everything I've seen the bottom rail section doesn't have a screw to secure it. The one I bought does though. Looking on Knights site it seems they call the bottom rail section with a screw the UK-SAS. Any reason to be concerned or should I be happy I got a more secure mounting system? Included a couple pics for reference.

Another question I have is the Aimpoint Comp M2 the only clone approved optic for a BK 1? I saw page one says ACOG but I'm not sure which one...
Where's the best place to pickup an M2? EE? And what's the going price these days?

Thanks!

Yep you got the UK version. Lucky bastage.

The TA01NSN is the block 1 ACOG although you could use a TA31 too. The EE for any of the 3, I wouldn't pay more than 300-350 for a comp m2. Payed around 200 for mine but that was a steal.

If you got that for a reasonable price I’d say you got a deal on your hands. The standard lower rail does not come with a tension screws. If I’m not istaken, it was made at the request of the UK/Canadian. The standard lower can be a bit “loose” and wiggles about.

For reference, I paid an extra $100 to get that lower half for my colt m4a1 socom  - the wiggle with a KAC vert was driving me crazy. I’d say be happy!

Thanks guys! Glad to hear I got the upgraded lower rail :/

Paid $150, don’t think I got a super steal but compared to $250 new and it’s in great shape I’m happy.

Trijicon Reflex was the first Block 1 Red Dot along with the TA01NSN ACOG.  M68 Comp M2 came later.

SW02 is correct. I would say no on the M951, that's more of a regular Army issued item. Maybe some early M952s on SOF guns? There was a very early M962 without SW02 listed on the Facebook clone group for $175 yesterday.

Ok, good :) Thanks. I probably overpaid at $95, but figured I'd probably never find a new in the bag SW02 again. It was listed on eBay this morning for $115 with free shipping and I did the Make an Offer option. The seller has a few more.

Also found an M962 in excellent shape with the wired + push button combo tailcap for $175 + shipping, so maybe that's not such a bad deal based on the FB group listings. Thoughts?

I changed out the plastic cover on the Brownells DD upper too. I highly recommend that you buy an extra dust cover pin. It was REALLY tight, so I had to bend the cover pin to get it out. Also I recommend putting some blue tape all around the forward assist/upper in case you care about marring your receiver. It will take time.. that sucker is in there extremely tight.

Good advice, thanks!
