So if Dead Air sucks, what's taking it's place? The AAC direct thread unobtanium can seen on the AAC 12.5 guns? The AAC SDN-6? Or something entirely new?

So I just got a stripped lower. I got a Noveske buffer tube kit with QD endplate and their LPK w/o trigger in my cart. I'm wondering what else do I need for smaller components like trigger guard, buffer setup, etc. I really want to get this gun built right.

I love these rifles guys and the origin of the clones. That being said I'm an MRP afficiando and have something similar to the DEVGRU carbines in this thread that I'd love to post in here so we could collectively and intelligently compare. I understand the point is moot as the specs of these rifles have already decided upon, down to the nitrided bolts for the rail (I think I'm correct) and those specs are the accepted criteria for this thread.
But, man, as cool as these rifles are I'd love to do a head to head! What's everyone's thoughts? |

View Quote Great results. I wish more people would conduct and publish tests like this. Just did something very similar with my HBSD comparing the delta between various Supersonic and Subsonic rounds with my Eotech EXPS3-4 with a G33 mag. I found that the best combo for running both supers and subs out of the same optic is Hornady Custom 135gr FTX and Hornady 190gr Sub-X. Very predictable drops across all 4 dots at 50, 100, and 200 yards. The 110gr projectiles continue to rise at 200 so the drop difference between the supers and subs is just too large. I found a 17” difference in drop between the 110gr and 190gr rounds at 100 yards using the same zero. It’s closer to 10” with the 135gr and 190gr at 100 yards. I know this isn’t related to the DEV build but there needs to be more data points out there with Super and Subsonic performance using the same zero. |

For one I wanted to see how well the light weight barrel handled heat, so I did a 60 round mag dump and did another 10 round group of the black hills. Attached File The reason I didnt originally include it is that the mirage from the can was so bad I couldn't tell if I was moving the rifle or it was the mirage. I did do 3 groups of subs but at this point I was pretty over being at a public range after getting asked if I was keeping my brass multiple times. Attached File I dialed 15 MOA from my orginal zero and these are the results. POA 1 is some Sellier-Bellot 200gr POA 2 is American Eagle 220 gr. POA 3 is AAC 220 otm Interestingly enough both POA 1 and 2 experienced a pretty crazy flier. |

Just got the noveske LPK installed on my gen 1 lower after putting it off for a while. For my gun, the noveske mil spec trigger is trash compared to other mil-spec LPK's. Does anyone else have the same experience? Its way heavier and creepier than any other mil spec trigger I've used.

I got the LPK just because I ordered the lower at the same time and couldn't bring myself to drop the $ on the giessele yet. Just seemed off how bad it is, but I guess it's not a big deal since it's just a place holder

So I’m a glutton for punishment. Just finished a Mod H URX and now want to do this. I have the 300blk Noveske barrel. Any idea who has an upper, lower and hand guard? I got my Sandman, I knew these are supposed to be heavy but my God it's like a brick on the end of my gun. The weight of the rifle feels like it doubled lol. Still unsure about a 5.56 upper since I basically can't get the right suppressor for it.

I'll give it to this new AAC, they are communicative if you message them. Wish they had more to give but from what they told me, Remington really messed up the old AAC records and lost a bunch of stuff.
