I say use what you have until you can find something that you feel is an appropriate scope for the rifle.  If it were me, I would want something with a little more magnification.

Like Mike said, use what you got. I'm using a Hi-Lux CMR on my Holland and don't plan to upgrade anytime soon. It works just fine and I honestly can't justify the expense. The CMR is a fantastic scope.

Their Mod 0's should now be fixed BTW, I emailed them and was told he made changes. I pointed out the incorrect FSB and that it needed an A1 lower.

Interesting.

I wonder if my email request to them had anything to do with those two updated Mod 1s - I sent them an email asking if they could add another Mod 1, this time with the suppressor on it. This was like 4 or 5 months ago though.

Doing my first high-end AR build and decided on the MK12 Mod0. Kevin at High Caliber Sales has been really helpful. Got the Mod0 upper delivered today! Beautiful upper with all the correct parts (or as close as can be bought new today) and I am very happy. Called him on Monday and he told me it would be ready "next week", got an email two days later telling me that he was shipping it. Very fast turnaround.

I have a LMT SOPMOD stock and I'm just waiting on the Colt M4A1 lower to come.

I currently have a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44 with American Rifle Co. M10 scope rings that I'm going to use for now but eventually going to get ARMS rings with a Nightforce 2.5-10 scope.

Keep your eye out for an NDS M16A1 lower and you'll be set! Sounds like you're off to a good start.

So - my "MK 12 for 2012" (project started November, 2011 ) isn't finished - still a lot of stuff to do to her to make her "just right," but got a new addition that puts me a lot closer, and moves my MOD 0 from a "stalled project" to "functional SPR" -

Managed to pick up a Leupold Vari X-III Tactical 3.5-10x40 illuminated mil-dot in trade -

It may not be exactly the TS-30A2 (which I still hope to eventually get), and I might have preferred a 3-9x36/2.5-8x36, and something besides M1 turrets - beggars can't be choosers when it comes to who wants to trade you what.

I've got a couple of rifles that could use some glass, so I'm not terribly concerned at this point by not having "100% correct" glass - I may end up using this scope on my "recce" later on down the line, or if I ever manage to build a .308 platform - so I'll give it a try for a little while and see how I like it, and decide whether I want to try to trade closer to what I "originally" wanted, or just hold on to it, and/or possibly move it to another project.

Not to dissuade you but do you want a replica or the real thing you can get a good condition one off the EE
or jhud or boywonder777 in the retro forum have great A1's that's where I got mine. You just have to IM
them to see they don't post their stuff in The EE you have ask to see what they have.
If you want brand new Fulton armory is a good deal the sling swivel is different than the originals.
Hope this helps.

This was why I actually asked.  I wasn't sure if I was going to be happy with the sling swivel.

Thanks Mr. Ferret for the link.  I should have been more informative in my post.  I knew of the Fulton

Nice adapter....pick that up off ebay by chance?  If so, I was bidding on it too.

Haha yea, it wasn't the cheapest buy. But I can never find them in stock anywhere.

Operation Parts had some same time as that auction.  Once it got above 25 bucks I bowed out though; picked up a non-kosher unit for about 7 bucks shipped.  I'll brave the chainsaw for 1/5th-1/6th the price, but does the same job.

I think I'll worry about saving up for the proper optic first, then little niggly stuff like that afterward.

Thanks Mr. Ferret for the link.  I should have been more informative in my post.  I knew of the Fulton

No worries.  If anything, the link is there for others who may stumble across it and not be as detail-oriented as many of us are in here.  I went with a "pre-owned" version as well, rack number and all.

That's the way to do it! I check operation parts and it said OOS. Maybe I looked too early/late. There was nothing wrong with my YHM, just had a hair up my ass!

Finally got around to finishing my two Nodak 80% lowers. Now I just need to figure out if I want to send them out to get engraved, or just build them up like they are.

Excellent, thanks!

Now to dig up another fifty bucks.

Hopefully updated photographs of the MK 12 MOD 0 this weekend - stock and grip are getting painted, and debating whether to re-do the whole rifle in a more disruptive pattern.

Also installed my old-school TNVC RDP II to the TRR - I'll probably leave the scope and rings unpainted for the time being, but I suspect that they will follow in not too long.

If you got the means, get Braceman to engrave them and alter to A1 profile for an M16A1 lower.  Mine should finally get milled out by end of next week then go sit at the anodizer.
