According to the zero scheme of -6 for a 100 yard zero, the drum should click 6 times below 6/3
Not sure where the 8 came from. |
I think they suggested 8 for a little room of play in case the dial didn't bottom out exactly at 6 notches.

it didn't need any extra
so I just kept it at -6 now, does anyone have a good idea about how to mark these on my rifle? the clicks for a 20 inch a2 style detachable carry handle 25 meters: “Z” setting 50 yards/200 meters “battle zero”: “6/3 -4” 50 yards: “6/3 -4” 100 yards: “6/3 -6” 150 yards: “6/3 -6” 200 meters: “6/3 -4” 300 meters: “6/3” (or “8/3″ with fixed carry handle, 20” barrel rifles) 400 meters: “4” 500 meters: “5” 600 meters: “6/3” I am not using a football wristband. Looking for other suggestions to just have them written on something and then applied to rifle, or written straight on the rifle (once I get it zeroed in of course) I also plan to put the info more succinctly if that matters 25-z 50/200 bzo-4 100/150-6 300-6/3 400=4 500=5 600-6/3 |

Just thought of another question
I have set the rear drum as molon said. For initial zero should I move the front sight to even it out? If so, which way to rotate? |
It was dead on at 25, didn't even need to mess with it, can't wait to try the other distances now, thanks for the help
well
finally got to go to a 100 yard range today rotated drum to -6 bam--right on thanks molon now if my old eyes can actually see that far---time for some optics? hmmmmm |

Anyone have an idea how to doribz right for a 10.7inch pistol? With Fsb and detach carry handle, ?

The reduced velocity and coarser adjustment from sight radius may negate each other.

Man, this thread vindicates my decision to get rid of A2 sights on all of my flat-top uppers! Using MaTech, KAC Micros, and Magpul Pro's in their place now.

has anyone put a laminated dope card for various ribz 8/3, 6/3 for a2 and detachable carry handle on the non roll mark side of their magwell? if so, how did you stick it on there?

the more and more I shoot
the more I like the ribz I am not the best at 100 yards yet-- my skills are improving---my eyes are not but with ribz----I can dial in minute of man if I use a blitzkrieg front sight triangle considering I in all likelihood won't engage a real target in hd situation shtf under 100 yards---a battle sight zero like ribz is just so KISS, I can't help to fall in love with it |

Where'd the PICs in OP go??!
BTW, dont know if anyones seen this yet, but its a very thorough writeup on army/marine/ibz/ribz zero schemes, their pros and cons and ballistic data. Its helped me understand the ar15s sights better https://savannaharsenal.com/2017/04/08/how-to-zero-ar-15-a2-type-sights/ |

I'm confused by the 8/3 +3 25yd poa=poi
If you're zeroed with the RIBZ and all sight schemes are intact (roughly), shouldn't the 8/3 setting give you a 25yd poa=ppi because near zero for 300yds/m is 25ish yds? Thats per the RIBZ info here. BTW if you haven't read this page thoroughly you're missing out. https://savannaharsenal.com/2017/04/08/how-to-zero-ar-15-a2-type-sights/ +3 seems like a lot if the 300 near zero is 25ish yds. |

Glad the pics are back up and that this thread is still here because I’m about to pull the trigger on a 16” H & R government model upper, which has A2 sights. Now, about that book you’re gonna put out… |
