SPCII is the way

I like H322 the best

110grVMAX works well.

SIERRA used to make a 110gr SP that was great, but it's discontinued.

BIG FAN of 6.8SPC

My chambers are SPC II

I've used Alliant RE 7 with 90 gr TNTs

I've used Alliant RE10x with 95gr TTSX

I've used AA2200 with 120gr SST, 110gr Vmax, 95gr TTSX, 90gr TNT, 105gr MKZ

I'm pretty sure everything I listed is currently available.

SPC2.

The BEST powder is AA2200. Loading manual max loads aren’t max.

My favorite bullets are 110 Vmax, 120, SST, 105 & 120 Cavity Back.

I use a 12.5” for a lot of my hunting, including my last elk:

Mine is an SPC2 chamber.

Current load is a 115 Sierra and H335 powder, but I have 8 lbs of AA2200 I'm gonna try on the advise from others.

I've used AA2200 with 120gr SST, 110gr Vmax, 95gr TTSX, 90gr Gold Dots.

Tried some others but it has been the best for me.

Most of mine are Spec II Chambers, one gas gun is a Spec I,and My Remington 700 is also a Spec I.

No problems from any of them, all are very accurate punching paper or harvesting deer &hogs.

Longest critter shot was 250yrd 8pnt that weighed 190lbs.....DRT!!!

28.0 grains of H322 under 115 grain SMK's was an early accuracy load for 6.8 SPC and still works today. Good luck finding any H322.

CFE 300 Blackout is an excellent powder for 6.8, AA-2200 works well too. RE-7 and RE-10X have been top picks.

IMO, 90 grain bullets are the way to go. 3000 fps is possible from 16" barrels, way faster than 115 grain bullets which max out a little over 2500 fps.

People hot rod this cartridge, and they do so at their own risk. 50,000 psi from a semi-auto is probably a safe working maximum. Bolt actions have more room to go higher.

"6.8 Forums" is dedicated to this cartridge, just be aware that a lot of members are proud members of the broken bolt club. AR-15 bolts are weaker when you carve out room for a bigger case head, it gets even worse when shooting 7.62x39mm or 6.5 Grendel in an AR. Follow the reloading data published for the bullets you intend to use, and you probably won't have any problems.

I'll second 68forums as a wealth of knowledge for this caliber. There's a lot of bullet and powder load data available in a good format to search through.

I have 2 SPCII uppers and use 2200 powder with various bullets.

the ultimate bullet is the 95 grain TTSX solid copper bullet.  With several powders you can easily get it going around 2800 fps for 1700 ftlbs of energy.

Best caliber ever for small frame AR 15

SPC II here.  Two @ 12.5" and one @16.0".  The 12.5" share a LaRue TRanQuilo while the 16.0" shares a Saker 7.62.  I have standardized on my reloads for all of them using Barnes 95 grain TTSX's, over 29.5 grains of LT-32.

The rifles have all produced excellent results on taking whitetail deer, antelope and of course the pesky feral hogs.

I have a 16” and 18” SPCII that my son and I deer hunt with. I load 110 grain AccuBonds and 90 grain Gold Dots with H322 and Accurate 2200. Had great results with both.

Anybody know where to get small primer brass?  Might be better to get loaded ammo and shoot it for the brass instead of getting a bag of 100 from starline.

It pops up here and there occasionally, I buy it anytime I see it reasonably priced.  Personally, I don't really have a preference between LR or SR primers, I just use whatever I can find cheap.

MidwayUSA is the only reason I got into 6.8SPC (and .338 Federal for that matter).  They ran a clearance sale on 90gr bonded .277 cal bullets a few years back, and I bought a several thousand...and wish I had bought more.  I ended up finding a couple 8lb jugs of AA2200, just wish I could find more brass.

all of mine are SPC II.  115 gr Gold Dots or 120 SST for hunting.  110 gr Hornady HPBT for target and all around general use.  90 gr Gold Dots or 110 Hornady VMax for self defense.

Graf & Sons shows to have Starline brass on hand.
