Flu and after. Because of supply chain issues and every one was buying.

Why do the 40+ one.pound containers and 6 eight pound containers have

2020/21/22/23 manufacturing dates?

Only two have 2020 but a lot of 2021 and 2022 dates.

A lot of these where bought in store and they did not have anything.in stock at all until a year or so ago. Now they are loaded shelves.

Decent prices too.

A lot ore recent powders I have not used and I moved 95% of my stuff down south to our other house in 1/23

So who held back to drive up price.

My understanding is the date is when it was packaged along with lot number.

I'm not sure how much room a manufacturer would have but not years worth

Distributors hang.onto to drive up prices.

Depends on the manufacturer.  A lot of preferred powders are imported by Hodgdon from Australia.  Those are only shipped in once or twice a year, and then re-packaged from bulk containers into 1-, 4-, and 8-pounders for retail.  The dates on your retail containers may not be the actual powder manufacture dates.

West coast ports were all backed-up during China flu with ships waiting for dock space and to be unloaded.  Lots of different goods (to include those Ozzie-made powders) sat in ships for a while before heading to wherever Hodgdon re-packages (I think Kansas).

You can get anything you want.  That's good, right?

You just have to be willing to pay inflated prices.  That's bad.
