I got rid of the Swiss stock on my 556 SBR because I didn't like the cheek weld. I wish I would not have put the Troy rail on it, though. I really like being able to use the Troy BUIS, but that handguard is lighter and looks great!

Ask him what licensing he had to get, how often he needs to renew it, and how long it took for him to get that license. May want to do some research on the topic, http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/04/daniel-zimmerman/mon-dieu-a-review-of-french-gun-laws/ for some reason my linking powers are not working. It might also be his connections/. When I was leaving Germany, I had a non-importable HP, ended up giving it to my German sister-in-law's boyfriend who was well contected and knew the local police authority. He was told "Don't worry about the paperwork, we'll take care of it." They like the British don't have a 2nd Amemendment to protect their gun rights, even if ours is under attack at the moment. |

Well done. Not too many of those.
I did this one about three years ago and I've only seen one other Storm that's been SBR'd. There's a guy on the Beretta forum that has one like mine but with a shortened buttstock as well. I got the idea from him. |

I got the idea from him. I had one in .45. I added the 922r parts then cut the thumbhole strap out thus giving me a pistol grip. I also cut off the sight ears and purchased an additional picatinny top rail and welded it to the original giving me a full length top rail. Was a neat gun, just wanted a 45 in the AR platform. |

I've really been toying with the idea of picking one up. Dead sexy! I originally bought it as a 556 swat sbr but the rail made it a little heavier than I liked so switched it to the plastic handguards and made it less front heavy. The 551 lower I got mainly because I liked the Swiss stock a lot more than the adjustable collapsable and it was easier to get with the lower. My overall impressions with it have been very good. The accuracy is good with 62's and the recoil is very smooth. Haven't had a single malfunction out of roughly 1000rds, was shooting my m16 so this didn't get much use at the time , but a lot of it has been with crap steel wolf. Doesn't even malfunction when shot folded. If I could choose a sbr 10.5" ar15 or the sig I'd take the ar15. If you're in or near San Antonio pm me and I'll let you try it out sometime. |
