I'm guessing it turns out to be nothing.
But, if not, I'm with bigstick. China testing a nuclear torpedo of some sort in the South China Sea would make sense. |

If it was a nuke It shouldn't be too hard to determine.
They have a pretty distinct seismic signature. |

Norks land based test site is borked
A sea test would be the easiest for them right now. |

What else would be a 10-20 kt detonation with a butt load of radiation in teh middle of the South China Sea? Maybe one of their subs accidentally the whole thing? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Possible nuclear detonation and the lead stories on CNN are the democratic debate and the impeachment. Maybe one of their subs accidentally the whole thing? Also being called out at fake news. Be interesting for answers. |

Not to mention the absolute shit ton of commercial shipping and fishing vessels in the area that almost certainly would have noticed such an event.

It would be hard not to notice something like that. 21kt at 50ft depth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Vu2pUsnmgU View Quote |

While I would lean more towards an impact from space, or the Chinese using a massive amount of conventional explosives for some reason....
Would the Iranians ever use the help (and location) of the Chinese to test a weapon of their own? |

Anyone got an EAM monitoring site for SKYKING? I couldn’t find anything that was live.

Quoted: Oh I’m sure we know about it, but we’re not going to do anything about it. Just like all the other missile launches. The detonations on land; they are done testing. They just need a delivery system like a sub to drive it over closer. View Quote |

The Bugs hit us Johnny! The Bugs hit us hard!
Let's kill 'em! Do you want to learn more? |

Quoted: If I recall correctly, they tested them in sealed caverns to obfuscate the yield. View Quote After the last test collapsed the mountain above & released a ton of radiation (right on China's border) the Norks were told in no uncertain terms that they would not be doing that any longer. |

Sum Ting Wong accidentally pushed the button. Ho Lee Fuk Tweeted about it and now, the Chinese government is covering it up.

So, 3.6 Roentgens? ... View Quote However, environmental monitors do not lock at off scale high at hourly rates that low. Besides, those who claim that ionizing radiation is impossible to detect by human senses and so the horrible lurking boogie man, just don't know their physics. When you can smell and taste the ozone, see the faint blue Cherenkov radiation in normal atmospheric moisture, feel a tingling sensation in your skin, then you can clearly see, smell, taste and feel the radiation. That's when it gets kinda sporty... Edit: when someone tells you they have a range of yield of a nuclear blast in kilotons, please ask to see their calculations. If none are forthcoming, they are full of shit. It's not simple, like at all, with true scholars debating the bedrock properties of the site and coupling parameters years after confirmed nuclear tests. |

10-20kt is on the really small side of atomic/nuclear bomb, small fission sized rather than fusion sized. Could be any number of bad actors, but China would likely be in the Megaton not Kiloton range. So, I’m thinking not China.

Quoted: Is that being reported by anyone other than the single initial source? View Quote Looking for a credible source on news when Bin Talal is the majority owner in the 6 Corporate Media holdings is like looking for a nunnery in Vegas. Things are NOT like they used to be. You don't get corroborative news shared by wire services, you get the 4am narrative ordered by Valerie Jarrett. If/when Reuters, the BBC etc come out with it you still will get what they want you to know. Case in point - Iran. Massive demonstrations, the Government there is sending out armed operatives burning places and shooting people, they have cranked up the tanks and are putting them in the streets. The internet is shut down, no stories are coming out on the controlled news services, and demonstrators are using alternative methods to dump their video for the world to see. Again, the news services are withholding it all. But, WE ARE THE NEWS NOW. As posted. More people here on Arfcom get their news from posts here than the media, who controls what they want you to see. We have the initial link, seismic reports, and more. Why bother with the news that won't tell you? Some Saudi Prince who hates Trump is going to tell you things he doesn't want you know? Good luck with that. |

Kinda like how all the tests we did in the past are being remeasured and the original calculations are being found to be have been as much as 20% off in some cases? View Quote When scientists do the same estimates from incomplete data, estimates can vary much more. For NKs 6th shot in 2017 the initial estimates were 70kt, now they are up to 270kt. One of the early estimates was about 100kt but ±50kt. That's quite a lot of uncertainty. So 10-20 kt is not an unreasonably long range for an early estimate, but it still has to be based on solid science. And without a source and basis for that calculation, it most likely is humbug. |
