Several.

Even owned a "quadrasonic" eight track. Woohoo!...big times! Only owned one quadrasonic tape for it though and it was a cheesey demo for quadrasonic from Ford/Lincoln.

Yes including a quadraphonic one that did not catch on and I could only find two tapes for it.

My dad had a job for a few years when I was young delivering 8-track tapes to gas stations and truck stops up and down I-65 in Kentucky. We always had players in the house and cars, and plenty of tapes.   My first 2 cars had 8-track players.

I had one when I was in high school, it got stolen out of my car.
I upgraded to Pioneer Super Tuner

Sure, born in 1960, beat reel to reel for ease of use!
I never had problems with tracks skipping or playing two channels-tracks at the same time.
Then cassette tapes came out,
"MY GOD, What Will They Think Of Next!"

Did I own one?

I still do in my 76 International Scout.

Yup had one in a 1968 Dodge Coronet in 1977  , I remember my brother who is 9 years older than me having an under dash record player that played 45's

Not in my car, but my sister did. Cassettes were in cars if you paid for the option by the time I started driving in 1982.

Home stereos I did, and still do.

I had a "component" 8 track player as part of my groovy home stereo setup in the 1980s.   All components my dad bought on shore leave during 'nam and had shipped back to the states.

One cool 8 track I had was a "various artists" compilation from the 1970s that had, among other things, "Cat Scratch Fever," a groovy disco Star Wars rendition, "Daytime Friends, Nightime Lovers,"  "Ruben James,"  and "Lying Eyes."

Also I had the typical shoebox full of old KISS 8 tracks.

One cool thing about 8 tracks was that they were "set it and forget it"  -- get a good compilation/party mix and it would just loop over and over.

Oh, and also part of the component stereo I inherited from my old man:

Just like that one.

Had one in my second car, a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 convertible, with a big block and 727 torqueflite.  Sure wish I had that car back, like a lot of the other cars I had.

Of course, several.

I even had a "quadraphonic" eight track in my 1967 Olds Cutlass way back in the 70's.

Several, too.

My first '72 Firebunny came with one stock.

My second one got one grafted in, but it didn't track for crap, so I swapped over to cassette.

I dont know why, but that Firebird console was a PITA to put that tape deck into with the shifter right there.

My '77 Power Wagon had both, cassette in dash (Pioneer unit within 4 days of rolling it new off the lot) and an underdash 8-track added in a few months later.

ETA:

Forgot the Mind Blower speakers I put into the Power Wagon...

Fkkn Gumbo Monster Mudders were loud as hell going down the road.

You almost couldn't crank the radio up loud enough....

Yep.  It was on clearance because 8tracks were about dead by then (my mom bought it for me).  I had to get one of those shitty cassette adaptors.  Can you say wow and flutter?

Elvis Costello's Get Happy, never sounded worse

Transmission hump mounted Craig Powerplay FTW.    Four Jensen 6x9 coaxials.  Two in the front doors and two in the rear deck.  Rocked my high school parking lot!  High tech for it's day.

I had a receiver that had one built in. I can't remember the brand, but it also recorded them. You could buy blank eight tracks at Sam Goody and figure out how to make the songs fit. My father had a couple of cars that had them. He didn't care; the car he liked had the eight track player, so that's what he got. I had at least one car that had one. I think it was a Ford LTD.

Yep. Had one in my car and a stereo with an 8-track.

I listened to 8-tracks so much that when I listen to some albums nowadays I expect the songs to have the same breaks in the middle that were on the 8-tracks.

Albums like:

Frank Zappa -- Apostrophe

Ted Nugent -- Free for All

Led Zeppelin -- Zoso

Foreigner -- Double Vision

ETA:  Zoso didn't have any breaks in it, but the order of songs was different than it is on the cassettes, vinyl, and CDs.

Physical Graffiti had several breaks in it.

Hell, I used to repair them.

Most of the problems tended to be a build up of ash and nicotine from smokers.

I had an old 8-track mounted in an older Polaroid camera case I used while driving a tractor, with a pair of those old over the ear headphones.

My cousins first husband had a Wellington car stereo store.  So he and I installed one in my 69 fastback mustang.  We removed the ash tray and the unit
fit right in.  At the time they were stolen a lot.  A cop told me the best thing to do was to tape razor blades around it so that a robber would need stitches if
he tried to steal it.  I did remove them when I sold the car.  Wish I still had the car.   It was a green Mach 1.

I remember my Dad had a JC Penney branded 8 track/Record player with an AM/FM radio.  He used to plug in Elvis, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson into it all the time.  I never liked the 8 track because it sounded like shit.  Dad didn't seem to mind much.  Then he upgraded to a Pioneer system with big old speakers, equalizer and a turn table.  Some of my fondest memories from childhood was Mom and Dad breaking out their records from the 60's and playing them on Sundays while we hung out and cleaned house.
