M70 AB2 is the general issue assault rifle for our army, everything else is pretty much imported (SF guys have access to M21 (5.56mm version) but they also have their pick of the litter (they recently picked up SCARs (both L and H), HK416s have been spotted also, g36... it all depends on the unit. Btw, fun picture, the gate at PTJ HQ (Protivteroristicka jedinica- Anti-Terrorist unit) http://i60.tinypic.com/e7mcmt.jpg Behind this guy is a 1919. Yeah, most of those were full-auto captured guns View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

View Quote Thank you for the offer, and thanks to a fwe other people that asked, but I would hate to act like the FSA and request anything, without being able to afford to retaliate with a proper package of Serbian goodies Btw, Saigaman, your package ships out on Monday I hope. And if anyone wants me to get you anything from serbia (surplus gear etc) I would be happy to help |

I talked to the guys from the Zastava factory maybe 2 months ago, and they said that willingness of the American distributors/importers is the only obstacle, as far as they know
One m76 on the local classfields, ~900$ with Zrak optics&side mount |
|
2nd package of new and old Serbian/Yugo surplus gear sent to the USA :)
If you guys need anything, feel free to pm me |
|

But that's just the shipping, need to check the blonde girls pricing around here
And Serbia sucks, we cant receive money via Paypal, we can only pay for stuff. Western union only |

How much does software there cost you, assuming retail licenses and shit? Windows, SQL Server, Visual Studio etc.

So is Serbia like Mexico when it comes to US currency? If you try to spend actual American dollars does it go further? Is more desirable?
|
|
Rarely. Since ~10 years ago, they have to use cash registers that log everything, so only Dinari (RSD) are accepted. I am talking about any kind of retail/clubs etc. But USD got stronger here, so $1 gets you ~109 RSD (was around 90 RSD last year)
But for bribing and paying for a service, yeah, dollars/euros work really well |

I think they film that stuff in Czech republic, haven't seen any Serbian girls there yet

We have free healthcare, since forever, so ask about that if you want to know anything special :) View Quote What is the quality of the care like? Ease of getting in to see a general practice Dr? Availability of specialist? How does the cost of living compare to the U.S.? Average life span? Quality of life? Lovely ladies in the photos. They look fun. |

Availability of specialist? How does the cost of living compare to the U.S.? Average life span? Quality of life? Lovely ladies in the photos. They look fun. It's... Hit and miss. Totally depends on the health worker you encounter. You can be treated like a king, or like crap. For general practice/diagnose, you wait 30mins- an hour. Specialists need to be scheduled, general practice guys send yo to them, wait time is from 1 day to 2-3 weeks (not for urgent cases) You pay for most of the meds (some can be subsidized by the government). Most of our doctors are good, but work in poor conditions. Nurses are mostly crap, as in they dont care for the patients (my grandma spent a month or so in a hospital, so i spent plenty of time there) Hygiene is crappy, same with stuff like food, bedsheets etc... Really bad. One big thing is the bribe. If you need ANY type of surgical procedure, there is an unofficial price list, amount of money the head surgeon gets for things to go smooth. For baby delivery, it's around 800 euros for the doctor delivering the baby, and maybe 500 for anesthesia guy. And generally, even for regular check-up or so, it is well known that you are supposed to get the doctor something (bag of coffee, chocolates or some quality booze). And it's somehow a custom, since everybody does it, and most people dont consider that a bribe, it's like.... a treat, like if it was your birthday and you brought cake to work or something, just a threat for you being healthy (no other way to explain it) |

This may have been asked and answered in the last 26 pages or so, but is Serbia required military service? Did you have to serve 2 or 3 or 4 years before you could get out and do what you want to do? Or are you still waiting to go in?
|
|
Yeah, it was asked once I think
Here is no required military service since... 4 years ago. I was the first generation that was not required to go to the military. Before that, it was 6 months. My dad served for a year (1985 i think) and my grandpa served for 3 years in the YPA (JNA). And, as he told me, he had maybe 3 or 4 free weekends in those 3 years Also, timing of your service can vary, you can postpone it if you want to go to college straight from high school (which is what I did), but you can go and serve as soon as you are 18 years old. |

Trooper man, thanks for posting. Interesting reading...and the BOTD isn't bad either.
