Why would you Uber eats something? Call and send your son to pick it up
Quoted: Being Father's day and all, and since it's just my son and myself, I thought I'd order out from a decent pizza joint I haven't been to in while... One Large peperoni and a dozen wings...$65? Holy shit. https://i.imgur.com/IvBrszn.jpeg Nope. I made chicken parm instead. View Quote How much was the UberEats markup? I bet it was less than half if you went and picked it up. |

Looks like you got a discount too lol
Those prices are too stupid to pay. |

I found out on accident the local Chinese place I like's website runs through one of the takeout apps, and ordering from their site charges you the higher rates even for pickup... and if you call in all the stuff is 20% cheaper.
I guess it's easier to have them maintain the website but that was really silly. |

Huh?
I got two mediums, bread bites and cinnamon bread for 28 dollars delivered yesterday. I guess op just knows how to pick the most expensive thing. |
You got Ripped off. This is the Pizza I got for about $40
Attached File The pic doesn’t do it justice. This thing was Massive. Bigger than 2 normal large pies. |
That would have been a good excuse for your and your son to cook a meal together.
Show him how to grill up some steaks and make a salad or something. |
$47 for flour/yeast / tomato sauce/cheese/sausage and some seasoning.
Thats the real tragedy….. |
That would have to be the best pizza ever and super large/thick so that it could feed several people.

Sorry, kid is only 8. Treated myself to a couple father's day beers, so driving wasn't an option, so I thought "Hey! Take-out for a special occasion!"
My mortgage is GTG, stopped eating out almost completely about a year ago due to crap food and ridiculous prices. lol. It just floored me how even more ridiculous prices have become. Just about every place around here no longer uses in-house delivery, everything has gone to uber eats/grub hub, etc. I haven't actually ordered out in well over a year. We had a good time making dinner instead. |
Well it is a heck of a lot cheaper to pick it up yourself. We pick it up 99.5% of the time.
I can walk into Little Caesars and get a large pepperoni for $5

It’s a Midwest tradition, same with drunk admissions of just barely making the mortgage payments this month. Could be a twofer |

Uber eats puts a markup on menu prices in addition to their fees.
See if the place has their own delivery drivers. You can order food through Uber Eats even if the restaurant doesn't partner with them. They scrape data like menu's and put themselves in between the restaurant and the customer while making money in the process with upcharged prices and fees. |

Try going through a fast food drive through around dinner time. Easily a 20 minute ordeal . Maybe longer.

I got pizza hut last week. Online order and I picked up: 1 large pizza, 12 wings, and bread sticks. $72 fucking dollars!
You didn't want to make it, then you didn't want to go pick it up.
You are seeking convivence on top of connivence. It is going to cost. Send it to me and I will save you the aggravation of eating it. Eating is so tiring. HFD |
I can get 3 large and 24 wings for that price.
You're going to the wrong place, OP |
shoulda called Domino's OP.
you could have gotten your pie and wings, and tipped the driver $10, and you still would have been at less than half of that stupid Uber Eats BS price. |
Sorry, my reading comprehension is lacking today... Can somebody explain this thread to me:
Dude can't pay his mortgage because he drunk ordered a $65 pizza for his 8 year old? Is that it? |
My wife was telling me that someone at her work paid $30 for Wendy’s the other day.
It was a baconator, fry, and frosty I think it was. It was from one of the food delivery services. I said that’s as dumb as going to the payday loan places and paying several hundred percent interest. I’d go hungry all day before paying that. And they also have a canteen service there too. It’s insane. |
FUCK THAT !
Cooked a ribeye and baked potato and a salad for less than 30 bucks with all the trimmings today. That's for 2 of us. You are doing it wrong OP. |

UberEats, DoorDash, GrubHub, Slice, etc. does not charge you extra. The restaurant does, we set prices. Now there may be fees associated with each platform.
Restaurants do this because they are charged a percentage of the ticket. Usual is 15% - 20%, but I’ve heard of places getting dicked for 40% because they didn’t the contract. Cost of business is high as fuck these days. |
For that price better come with a hot blonde who’s into butt stuff.
