Army trying to do marine things. They should have left it to the professionals

Whelp, we officially have boots on the ground in Gaza. Might as well get it on and help sweep out the rats. What did they forget to account for the tides? What a ridiculous boondoggle.

TAMPA, Fla. – This morning (Gaza time), four U.S. Army vessels supporting the maritime humanitarian aid mission in Gaza were affected by heavy sea states. The vessels broke free from their moorings and two vessels are now anchored on the beach near the pier. The third and fourth vessels are beached on the coast of Israel near Ashkelon. Efforts to recover the vessels are under way with assistance from the Israeli Navy. The IDF is supporting the recovery efforts near the pier. No U.S. personnel will enter Gaza. No injuries have been reported and the pier remains fully functional. We will release additional details as they become available. |

They probably didn’t preload the maps in their OnX and got confused about property lines when they ventured out of cell service.
At least they can still get sponsored by NightForce. |

I guess that would depend. This mission was extremely unnecessary, stupid and risky. Having said that, it's also stupid for the right to poke and cheer as it goes bad. Just STFU for now and bring it up in October. |

View Quote I spent 3 years as a Beach Master working with landing craft, barge ferries, floating and elevated causeways, LCUs and LCACs, these things will happen. Once incident at Camp Pendleton years ago resulted in 2 broached/sunk 110' LCU landing craft and a destroyed Cat D-7 dozer. |

The primary objection to this pier location was that it is unprotected and weather could lead to exactly this sort of thing.
As for the people that think the Navy should be operating water craft, go ahead and tell them. They don't seem particularly interested in small watercraft, and the Army has over 130 of them. |

Normal day at the beach. Someone must have tried to make a run for some Goldstar.

Is it easier for Hamas to unload them when they're aground? They are probably loading UP Hamas to bring them to the US. We need more foreign terrorists in our alien population. Hell, the feds will probably give them a gun and bomb making stipend to boot. |

Fort Story had thousands of small and medium boats when I was at Langley AFB. The Coast Guard also stored hundreds at Yorktown. |

Yep, 5X more boots on the ground than Marines in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Something nobody seems to know or wants to hear. |

lol… oh wait, my taxes paid for that |
|
So our military men and women knowingly spent millions of our tax dollars building infrastructure which will obviously benefit Hamas, and then managed to do a crap job of it, resulting in wasting even more money.
My freedom sure feels defended. Glad we have people to "just follow orders" like this. |
