I’d go over and talk to the the bank manager. I know all of them including the President that I go to church with.

Banks are happy to get rid of Karen’s that want to speak to the manager.

Quoted: Just got off the phone with a bank manager. His schedule is to be at this branch on Tuesdays and Thursdays "at least for the next two weeks". Will be happy to personally handle my cash withdrawal. They only verify the name and expiration date on a third-party CC, not scan it. Understands my objection to debit card, never uses one himself. I can live with them looking at another CC, my objection was because I thought they were going to swipe it. So what did we learn? 1. DLs are easy to fake and commonly used for bank fraud 2. CCs are harder to fake than DLs 3. FJB 4. those that disrespect boomers have small penises View Quote So, now you can only bank on Tuesday and Thursday, because you feel entitled. BAHAHAHHHAAA. |

I have to use my bank debit card for a teller withdrawal.
Never been asked for more than that. |

Quoted: So, now you can only bank on Tuesday and Thursday, because you feel entitled. BAHAHAHHHAAA. View Quote My point was "for the next two weeks". So right now they have no bank officer on premises for three days a week and in two weeks who knows. Sounds like they will be closing the branch, which makes sense if you review their 1Q results. |

Quoted: They just want to see the name on a debit or credit card, OP. Or some other form of ID. This isn't hard. View Quote This. So many on Arfcom want to escalate every interaction to the thermonuclear level. A little bit of friendly interaction could have OP with $200 in his pocket. FWIW both my bank and credit union have my photo on file. When I give them my name they look up my photo. They rarely ask for an ID unless I'm at the CU drive through with shitty camera system. |

View Quote I already talked to the acting manager on the phone this AM. Will probably go see him in person this PM. We live in the sticks and had no closer options until recently. I will be moving most of my business to a new local bank down the road. |

Quoted: Good idea. I did not know that was possible. I have always refused a debit card because a credit card has loss capped at $50 while the debit card loss does not have a cap. View Quote You should update your knowledge base. Not being an ass, I don't know how your bank handles it. My daughter was hit recently by scammers for about $2k on her debit card. She refused the charges almost immediately because our bank will text you when they spot our of ordinary charges. She showed up in person next business day to official refute the charges. Account was sorted out within 48 hrs. My brother had someone get his CC info and hit it for over $15k. It took months to sort out. Policies differ with different vendors. Helps to know how yours works. |

View Quote No doubt. I never had an issue until yesterday. I reacted negatively to their request to show my debit card because they have repeatedly tried to push a debit card on me and I have refused. The regular teller would not have pushed that issue. I always ask her about her kids and how your momma is doing, etc. At the time I did not understand that a CC is actually harder to fake than a govt. ID (what a world we live in thanks to FJB and multinational crime cartels). The teller trainee was nice, but the other teller went full bitch when I pushed back on the CC and debit card request. I don't react well to a rude (and probably insecure) person telling me I have to do something "because". The manager today was calm and explained the ID issue. He also respected me and did not talk over me. |

Quoted: Same with cash registers at grocery stores. View Quote Think about that... when you use your debit card you are presenting 2 pieces of information. The physical card + the PIN. Debit card "cash back" withdrawal is also capped at a pretty low amount. There are layers and layers of risk mitigation around you that have been decided upon by large organizations . |
|
Quoted: PNC SUCKS, ALMOST AS BAD AS BOA View Quote Chase and BofA have been the only two (of all the big banks) that have been extremely active in anti-gun, anti-privacy stuff. PNC has actually done a lot that you'd agree is either pro-gun or neutral and has absolutely been pro-consumer privacy. |

I wish they had it set up when the bank pulled up my account it had my picture and age under it on their screen. I still remember the photo credit cards that some banks had years ago.

Quoted: Went to PNC Bank to withdraw cash from my account today. Handed them a withdrawal slip and my DL. They asked for additional ID like debit card or credit card. I don't have a debit or credit card from PNC and I don't see the need to share my other credit cards with them. Have you seen this? How would you handle? View Quote Can see asking for a second form of government issued ID, but CC or debt card is not a legal one of them. So question comes down to if they tried to mag swipe the DMV to see if legit or not, machine could not read it, and why they wanted another card like CC or debt to swipe as well/ too see if your name came up correct on it. Hence easy to make a fake ID's, but really hard to get the mag swipe information correct isntead. As for just visual ID check and them wanting to see a second, then should have at least a second one as well. This could be passport, CCW, or other government issued cards, but as you pointed out, CC or debit card is not one of them, no matter what name comes up on it when swiped. So maybe just looking for name to come up on card, but with you on maybe looking to collect other banking accounts beside theirs as a data mining thing. But in this day and age, only having one form of government issued card, is not part of the norm. If nothing else and only have your DMV drivers license as only government issued identification that you carry, then go an Identity card as well from DMV, so you do have a second form of government identification to carry as well. P.s. How did you manage to get a checking or saving account from PNC, and they did not issue you a Debit card for the account? |

This isn’t nearly as bad as what my uncle went through.
My uncle is 50 has early onset Parkinson’s. He decided to retire and enjoy his wealth (humble man and yes very wealthy), and enjoy some of truist banks wealth soon too! He went into a branch in WV to get a cashiers check to buy a SXS from a local Yamaha dealer and was so stoked. Woman wouldn’t give it to him and he HAD THREE FORMS OF ID. He didn’t know or understand why and she said it was because he was “acting weird” and the manager doubled down. Said he was acting like he was on drugs and he was just embarrassed. He said “maam I have Parkinson’s” they didn’t believe him lmfao. He closed account back home in NC and the regional president called and was so apologetic. But yeah he’s about to win the lawsuit too. |

I don't mind extra verification.
Better than them telling your "What money? you withdraw it all last week." |

All the women in my credit union know me by name.
Must be the fat stax i keep in their bank. ?? |

Insurance Card?
i agree, they don't need it but they don't need your account eith .I'm assuming |

I would give them two form of ID while I withdraw everything and move on down the road.
I can understand them trying to protect my account. But it’s obviously me coming g to get my fucking money. |

If they could ever catch these summers they should cut all fingers off next to the hand. No more typing for dollars.

Nothing more suspect in the year 2024 than trying to cash a check in person or walking in to ask for a withdrawal (unless you're about 87).
If you had legit access to the account you would deposit the check either in person (and not immediately ask for cash back) or via that damn App and withdrawal some cash via the ATM. |

ya...cause ur a slave dude...welcome to reality
my fave is when they question why you want the money....holy shit i start fuming when i hear that shit |

Quoted: Eons ago, I did a withdrawal from BofA. Had the signed withdrawal slip. They asked for my debit card. Teller said my card needed to be signed. I signed it right then and there. As a CU "member" you will be a part owner and will find the experience much improved over a bank. |

Quoted: I once gave my bank my ccw. They said, 'yep, government issued id'. View Quote I used my scuba cert card since it was the only other thing with my picture on it at wells Fargo last year. I ask the teller if she realized how ignorant it was to suggest that my State issued DL wasn't good enough but a 40 some year old scuba cert with a picture of me at 14 was ok. She said she did and just had to go through the motions to which I relied and this is why I will never have an account here |

Quoted: Maybe they have experienced a lot of ID fraud lately, especially with cash withdrawals. View Quote This is it. They have been getting destroyed by crews from up north lately. Its a variation of the "felony lane gang" scam but they are using fake IDs and already have all, and I mean ALL, the account holder's info (SS#, account number, etc.). If the bank doesn't have your picture in their account profile already, they are going to add more scrutiny to your withdrawals. Yay data breaches! |
|
Quoted: Very strange. ATMs squirt that much out without a second thought. View Quote Not with your only your drivers license. Also, you don't need a debit card for an ATM, and only a fool has a debit card account. Theft from a debit card account usually has an entirely different set of rules compared to a credit card, unless you have a really good bank with good policy. First hand experience. |

What pisses me off is them wanting to see ID for deposits. If someone wants to deposit money in my account, fucking let them!
