I would have loved to have that. So would I. It would've made a great "fix up as time and money permitted" project. I was in a hurry, so I didn't stop to look at it, but the body was in great shape. those bumpers look nice! Exactly what I would do if I had a Taco. Thank you both... Some of the local guys have noted that my truck has a little bit of an identity crisis going on because it is used like an expo rig but looks (at least without the camper) like more of a prerunner since I went tubular instead of plate to cut down on weight, and it has seen its share of crawling but very little mud or snow so the tires seem like an odd choice to some folks. But basically it does everything I have wanted (or needed) it to do, and I'm still a long way from being finished with it. |

I have all my pioneer gear from the JK, but no winch this time/yet. Jim You'll be fine on those trails alone, with or without a winch. I don't have a winch and I've soloed 250+ mile expeditionary trails in AZ, UT, and WA... just have your basics covered for recovery gear, double check everything before you leave the highway (pressure in the spare, fluids, condition of straps, have plenty of backup water, etc.). When I'm alone I avoid unnecessary challenges and don't do anything risky regardless of how far out I am... I'd rather not have to dig myself out of something or put myself in a position that might necessitate relying on someone else for assistance even if I'm within earshot of a major highway. Air down as little as possible to start off... I usually keep 22lbs or so in my 33x11.5s for graded dirt roads and I adjust down from there. Having a small 12v compressor is a huge help as well for when you get back on the road. |

I need to get those powder coated. The weight of these has solidified my decision to get heavy duty expedition Dakar springs for the back. I'm guessing I'm at around 300 lbs in the rear for everything. I may put this on when I get back, since I don't want my stock suspension bottoming. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=42070 Love the rotopax, trying to figure out a good place to mount some on my 4runner. |

The back bumper or flat on a roof top rack would probably be the best bet.
