Weird. Are they expecting a shooting or something?
"The City of Chicago is installing hundreds of kits in city buildings to treat bleeding gunshot victims under a new program officials say could help save lives in an emergency. Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications announced earlier this month that the city has begun installing 426 wall mounted "Bleeding Control Kits" in 269 buildings across the city. Those buildings include City Hall, Chicago Public Library locations, the Chicago Cultural Center, medical clinics, senior centers and more. OEMC said the kits are being installed under a new program called "Safe Chicago" in partnership with the Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Police Department and the city's Assets and Information Services." https://www.nbcchicago.com/investigations/chicago-installing-bleeding-control-kits-in-hundreds-of-city-buildings/2623223/?_osource=SocialFlowFB_CHBrand |

if i was in chicago strictly by statistics my chance of getting shot skyrockets so maybe its not a bad idea.

Good to have. More useful than a lot of the crap in various first aid kits that never get touched.
But are the 269 buildings in the areas that people get shot? And are they open during the hours that people get shot?
I'm putting my money on No and No... |
Before Covid, Texas passed a law that all middle and high school teachers get stop the bleed training. If covid had not hit - I can only assume that would have been a shit load of stop the bleed kits. Due to covid, I doubt 1 out of 100 got the training...
Thought these were pretty much standard in all big public buildings for quite some time
Is a passerby going to know how to use the kits? Maybe, maybe not.
Does Chicago/Illinois have Samaratan laws which would apply if said kit were misapplied? |

View Quote Lol, I just noticed an old first aid kit in a science lab at work that is probably 40 years old. Had a box of ammonia-inhalant crackers in the box with the cellophane wrap still on. |

So. I assume they have people trained to use a trauma kit at all these city buildings?
Should install it at the shithole south side of englewood at every light pole.
Why would they put bleeding control kits only in certain areas? Are they saying that certain types of people are more likely to cause violence than others? This sounds kinda racist, somebody should compare the racial demographics of where these kits are going to the racial demographics of where these kits aren't being installed.

Makes sense…in addition to 30 plus methadone clinics, shot-spotters, police crime cameras, now these, all while restricting police more and more
someone should review the financials behind the company(ies) that got the contracts and cross check it against donations to dems
I wonder about the contents, quality, and how shady the procurement process was
Will the FBHO library have its own trauma ward? They could call it a Diversity Awareness Depot.
Seems like a waste of time and money, so I’m surprised they didn’t act on this sooner. Isn’t that what the government is for?
This thread is a good reminder that I need to find and sign up for some local stop the bleed training for me and the wife though. We live rural and have a bunch of kids, it’s not unreasonable to think that in my situation and with proper training it could save one of our lives someday. |
Maybe they should hire 269 cops and start stop and frisk???
Maybe anyone with a felony gun conviction should get 5 years min. 10 years more for repeat offenders? Automatic 5 year min for straw gun purchase? Oh wait that might save a few blacks lives.... |

They'll get deviously licked right off the the mounts, and wind up in toilets if anyone between ages 10 and 23 are able to get close to them.
Just give TQ's away with 2 ltr bottles of grape soda. Makes sense really.
Somehow......and for some strange reason, I believe the Chicago bleeding kit program in question would be widely more accepted and easily understood by the local denizens if they were called "He Leakin' Kits".

Chiraq is now asking it's hood rats to put a band-aid on a bullet wound.
Out standing work. |

Quoted: someone should review the financials behind the company(ies) that got the contracts and cross check it against donations to dems View Quote @aggiesq You got me thinking on that so I went down the rabbit hole. The units they bought are basically PN: 80-0468 made by the North American Rescue Company of Greer, SC. Except they're packaged in a plastic box that mounts on thewall. The basic unit sells for $450.99.. https://www.narescue.com/public-access-bleeding-control-8-pack-vacuum-sealed.html I looked at the company profile and who they made political contributions to, and was surprised to find that while the company can't make political contributions, the the organization's individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate family members donated primarily to Republican candidates... https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/north-american-rescue-products/summary?id=D000054748 Of course, we don't know whether the City of Chicago bought those directly from the manufacturer, or from a vendor. There was a Broward County sheriff who was involved in a shady deal back in 2020, with what appears to be the same product... https://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/fl-ne-stop-the-bleed-kits-sheriff-20200511-mdkjzxaktfezfbjmct2wp3iqbi-story.html And as Columbo used to say, "Just one more thing..." If you can buy those from the factory for $450.99 and the city bought 426 of them at $500 apiece, someone made a $21,300 profit. |
Would those so inclined be able to misuse a TQ to assist with injecting drugs?
Hollywood shows us that rubber tubing or belts are preferred, but why leave the hood to steal either one if you don't have to? |

CWII is coming, they're going to need alot more kits.
Better put some milk in them. |
