Yes, a Marlin model 60. My dad bought it for me when I was 10 or so.

Yup . . . a Savage Revelation .22 purchased at a Western Auto (Christmas present from my dad).
No. Mine was a Marlin model 60. I parted ways with it recently due to financial problems. I will replace it with a CZ 452 or 457 as soon as finances allow.

Yep. It's a Marlin model 60 with the gold trigger and coin in the stock. Got it when I was around 10. It was stolen from me when I was around 16-17, the Mom of the guy that stole it went and bought it from the guy he sold it to and brought it back to me, so I wouldn't put him in jail.?????

For how little money I had, and how it has stood the test of time; Colt Trooper MkIII. Yes, still have it.
Glenfield 25 that my dad bought for me at Target for $49 complete with a Weaver V22 scope. Yes I still have it although I took off the iron sights and lost them when I was a kid. If any one has a set of old Marlin sights I sure could use them.

An Auto Ordnance 1911 in .45, I still have it. Its probably been 20 years since I shot it.
I still have the first gun given to me as a kid, an H&R single shot 12ga. The first gun I bought with my own money was an 870 Express and that gun is long gone.

Yes, Winchester .22 rifle bought for something like $35 new at Two Guys department store. That's when most department stores sold guns. Those were the days.

Still have the first BB gun, crossman 760 (worn out) first .22, Winchester 190 (wore out the white nylon bolt buffer, internet didn’t exist, still have it it’s disassembled) first shotgun Savage 311 SxS. It was my grandpas and the only gun I would save from a sinking boat. He kept it in his combine and had cracked the trigger guard near the aft mount hole. He had carefully wrapped wire around it and made a very serviceable repair to it. I, foolishly, unwrapped it intending to fix it, I need to fix that one.

It’s hard to know which of three was really my first: before I could walk/talk I had
Browning BL-22 Remington 870 20 gauge Stevens 94 single shot 20. Oddly enough the browning might get shot once per year, the 870 once per decade, the little single shot gets carried almost constantly around the farm. Toted it yesterday. Will likely do so again before the end of the week. Some years back I did a trigger job on it, lightened up the ejector so it doesn’t launch empties into the neighbor’s yard, and installed sling swivels and a sling. Turns out a single barreled shotgun is a very practical farm tool. |

First gun I got when I was 10 for Christmas was a model 60 marlin. First pistol I bought was a Taurus pt 92 that I gave to my father years later for Father’s Day. I did receive it back recently. Miss you dad. Would rather have you around then the pistol.

Absolutely. A Dan Wesson 15 2VHB. Bought it the day I turned 21, 41 years ago. My son will get it when I move on.
I wish I still had it. I don't remember the brand, as I was 13 when my parents gave it to me on my birthday, but it was a .22/410 over and under rifle. A few years later it was damaged in a house fire, and without asking me, my parents sold it to my Moms boss. I found out when he stopped by the house to show them how he had it cleaned up. I thought "WTF, that was MY gun." Didn't even see a dime off the sale.

The Ithaca M37 12 ga my dad bought for me when I was 12 is in the safe. Haven't hunted with it since 1987 though. Haven't hunted since 1987 either.
Got invited to go rabbit hunting with a couple guys. I got 4 that day and they got one each. For some reason they didn't invite me again. Hmm. Maybe I should have missed more. Then again, one of the dogs tried to eat one of my rabbits and it did irritate me some. So, I guess, 55 years now I've had that old Ithaca. I'll never get rid of it. Too many memories of hunts all over the country (Air Force brat, we moved a lot.) |

Nope. Bought myself a Colt R6500 right after I turned 18. At the time I still lived with my parents, my mom was a quasi-liberal college professor who hated guns. I made the mistake of leaving it parked downstairs in a hall closet, instead of bringing it back to my room with me. One day I realized the rifle was gone, come to find out she took it to the bridge and threw it in the Ohio River. Even pissed off my dad who was somewhat ambivalent about guns.

I still own my first handgun.
A Ruger Single-Six 22 with an extra magnum cylinder. Dad bought it for me in 1975, I was a teenager. I have, without exaggeration, shot 10,000 or more rounds through it. |
Yes. My first gun was my Husqvarna Model 1622 .22 LR. Still have and cherish it. Got it when I was 8 from my step-grandmother and I carried that thing everywhere with me as a kid growing up.

Steven’s Youth Favorite in .22 lr
60 years ago for my 8th birthday Still works just fine |
Yes I do. My dad gave me a single shot 20 gauge over 40 years ago. It was made by the Bridge Gun Company, is a break open with exposed hammer.
I have no clue as to its age but is has killed a lot of rabbits, squirrels and dove over of the years. I still take it out once in awhile and put a few shells thru it. |
Yes. My Grandmother gave me her 1930 Winchester Model 52 with the factory Lyman peeps on it when I was 5 years old, which I will never give up.

No. It was a .22LR bolt single-shot that a fellow lodge member gave to Dad to teach me how to shoot. After a couple of years, he gave it to another lodge member to teach his kid.
I sometimes wonder how many kids learned to shoot with that rifle? |
No it was a Mini-14 Ranch Rifle, $550 at WalMart back in 2007
yes. My father gifted me a 20ga double barrel Fox shotgun for my 9th birthday. I still have it and plan to gift it to my son.
My wife still owns her first handgun, A 6 shot .357 revolver Colt made for one year only, A Colt Magnum Carry.
I still own my first handgun a SigSauer P229 in .40S&W. |
