Blue crab<stone crab < dungeons < snow < king crab for the win.

Even FL man knows properly frozen flown-in dungi from 5000 miles away to their doorstep, is better than fresh unfrozen stone crab claws I just pulled off. However, neither is better than cracked conch from some 3rd world country.

Two steamed Dungeness, bowl of garlic butter, couple of baguettes, bottle of ice cold Riesling and a picnic table.
Leave me alone for awhile. |

Quoted: How am I just now learning this? View Quote Red rock crab are even sweeter but i do agree Dungeness are way tastier than Snow or King crab |

Quoted: They all have their place on my table! Snow and king crab are easier and faster to crack. The dungies do tend to be my favorite though! ETA: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/72250/20220706_164637-2487505.jpg View Quote Dungeness are hands down my favorite. |

Snow crab is bottom barrel.
Stone crab, blue crab, and king crab are all far superior. |
|
|
King Crab>Everything else. And grill those legs instead of steaming or boiling.
|
|
Dungeness is the sweetest crab meat. takes some work to get the meat but
wow is it good. better than most king crab. snow crab? almost any crab is better than snow crab. in Texas, good luck finding it though... |

I went to a gathering recently and someone brought some crab claws…fucking delicious

GD I am disappointed, not a single reference to imitation crab meat!!!

If you don't see the Maryland blue crab shell, you're likely getting imported bullshit these days.

So far I have tried king, snow, blue, Dungeness, soft shelled, rock, and a couple other kinds of crab I can't remember...I like them all, but Dungeness is my favorite by quite a wide margin.

Dungies over all. King Crab leg sections do run a pretty close second though..
Snow crab is trash crab. Only fit to be served at Red Lobster. Do not eat. |

I had a platter of blue crab once, never again. They take just as much work to eat as dungeonous for half the meat and don’t taste as good.
|
|
They were $5 a pound 10 years ago and it shot up to $20+ once everyone found out about them.
