Not quite, the last benchmade I received, a gift from a friend for my birthday, post chopsaw. Looked like it was ground by someone with cerebral palsy having an epileptic seizure. There's no way it should have left the factory. My buddy didn't see it till I opened the gift and he was ashamed. He is also a knife guy.

I bought an Emerson CQC-8 years ago that looked like it left the factory without ever having an edge put on it.

What do you usually use a pocket knife for?

I like deep pocket clips, of course, one-hand opening. Outdoors use, I prefer a stouter folder; office work and general EDC, I like a good slicer. There's really so much variety and quality on the market, you kind of need to narrow down the above.

Recently got this little gent 2.0 from ferrum forge. Its the smoothest action i ever saw for the price. Feels nice and slim

My daily is a Kershaw Shallot with a CPM110V blade.  I just replaced the torsion bar and it now snaps open just like when it was new.

However, I want a slightly larger knife with assisted opening.  I've seen a few recommended here the past year or so, but the two I really liked were no longer in production.

I used to carry one, but both of the ones I had developed cracks at the thumb studs for no reason, so I've ditched the Blur altogether.
I now carry a Kizer Original button lock and I like it so far, but time will tell.

My current edc is a Microtech Socom Auto. I have carried Microtech since it replaced my MOD and Benchmade back in the 90s. Till I lost it and carried a Benchmade Autostriker for a bit till I could replace the sicom Auto when they released them again.

Spanish maker Nieto. Hand-made, no Chinese stuff. Extremely nice knives for the price. The steel is pretty good, maybe a little on the soft side, but takes an edge very well obviously. I've seen some "reviews" say that it (AN58) loses an edge fast, and while it's not like one of my Busses, it's certainly on par with just about any other steel. Frankly I'd rather sharpen a little more and not deal with chips, but that's me. Anyhow, highly recommended if you want something a little more stylish and less tacticool.

- grippy scales
- reversible clip
- wide clip, doesn't snag
- speed assist opening
- made in USA

The thing about assisted opening is that today's knives are able to open just as fast, without having to meet resistance while closing the knife.
