Absolutely. Really good show that ended without much closure.

I need to watch Firefly since it seems up my alley.

The Unit suffered the same fate as most in that they had exhausted all episode ideas to that point in history. They could easily do a reboot with more material now.

Top Gear is another, but that was a Clarkson issue with the dumbasses at the BBC.

The Grand Tour should have continued in their original format with yearly specials much in the same vain as Top Gear, but I'm sure the lawyers at the BBC probably had something to do with that debacle.

I wish MST3K had a couple more seasons on Sci-Fi (they only had three). Some of the absolute funniest episodes came out of those years.

This!  They did the teen angst and drama the first season and the ratings dropped like a rock. It started to get really good the second season and stupid SY-FY cancelled it.

For Dead Like Me, there was a movie to end it. And while it did a massive disservice to Daisy, it did give closure to George and her mom and sister, which was nice.

One that really pissed me off: Dark Matter

Yeah, the end of Dark Matter sucked hard.

It was fucking HORRENDOUS!

They did an episode telling of these amazing future adventures, all of which start with The Arrival of The Black Ships.

And what happens in the very last moment of Dark Matter?

The Arrival of The Black Ships.

FUCK

Fuck

All of these shows are SyFy shows.

KillJoys, Dark Matter, Stargate *, Travelers wan't SyFy, but it was all Canadians who were in SyFy shows...

Oh, Caprica. One season, fucking took OFF at the end, canceled.

Nope.

I don't even watch The Harry Potter/Futurama channel anymore.

Stargate Universe, first and foremost.  I think the other two series each had a season left in them, but SGU's cancellation was far more upsetting.  It had a ton of potential.

Until then, the most upsetting was Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  Both got cancelled on cliffhangers, too, and IIRC, both got announced to the producers at the last minute.

Almost Human got the Firefly treatment and cancelled.  Like Firefly (another disappointing cancellation, although it had long left the air when I finally saw it), they aired the episodes out of order.  I forget if they changed nights, too.  Both series had a lot of potential for future episodes.

Others have been alright and got cancelled on cliffhangers or in some other disappointing manner, but they weren't particularly notable.  I do wish that they hadn't have cut Magnum P.I. short when they cancelled it.  They had originally planned several more episodes, including one which would have seen the return of Frank Sinatra's character.  That happened long before my time, though, and it otherwise had a good run, so it didn't really need to keep going much longer.

ETA: Marco Polo, as mentioned, had potential for more seasons and was worth continuing.

Colony is another that was deeply disappointing.  It was starting to seem a bit played out, and then things started getting really interesting, even fascinating, and like that, it was gone.

Jericho also could have used more seasons.  Sucked that they cancelled it like they did, although at least we got a partial second season.

There was a show about people coming back to life (Resurrection?) that could have used at least another season.  Last Resort, for all of its faults, had potential for at least another season.  Alcatraz, too.  Terra Nova and The Event are shows where I would have liked to have had some idea of what they were planning for it, but both were not that good overall and I'm not that disappointed.

Caprica was another cut down too soon, and BSG: Blood and Chrome was killed at birth.

I also thought they should have given the X-Files one more season before shutting it down for good (Anderson no longer wanted to do it, though).

Beyond was another one that could have kept going a bit.  At least we get to see more of Brolin in Yellowstone.

They could have fleshed out The Leftovers with another season, too, although I don't think it had much more in it beyond that.

I'm noticing a trend of it being mainly SciFi stuff that was cut down before its time.

Not actually cancelled, believe it or not.  When COVID shut down everything, they actually had everything set up to start filming the next season and were just waiting on Tom Hardy's availability.  From what I understand, they intend to still produce Season 2 and for all I know may have already started (it's been months since I checked).

If cancelled, this show would certainly qualify as one that should have kept going.  It's only planned to last 3 seasons.

Yup, although I found the ending unsatisfying.  Both Ava and Raylan should have died in that last episode, IMO, with the series ending with "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive".  It would have been far more poetic.

In and ideal world that show would have been written with 4 seasons in mind. The extra episodes would have allowed them to delve a bit deeper into everything that was going on.

TSCC is the only successful continuation after T2 IMO.

It really captured the darkness of the original and actually increased it.

The glimpses of the future(s) were tantalizing and downright creepy. And what, exactly, was Cameron's agenda?

Alas and alack.

Yes, it was really good.  And it also explored a lot of themes that the movies could only touch on to limited degrees due to format.  And heck, what was the female T1000 model's agenda?  That cliffhanger was so aggravating, too.  Horrible place to leave everyone hanging.

Game of Thrones. They really screwed the show up by rushing the non-sensical ending. It had so much potential.

The original Lost in Space from when I was a kid. They ended it with no notice, no fanfare, and no closure.

I enjoyed the “Dead Like Me” series. My favorite episode was where Billy Idol plays an aging Rocker who shoots-up heroin one too many times while lamenting his bad choices in life.

“Black Sails” I really hoped they would make the natural progression into a telling of the “Treasure Island” tale.
