I just read the rules on pg one of the locked thread.............
Nothing is stated about what happens if a ''dead'' # is drawn...... |
I'd like to pick 756, please. Retroactively.
Seriously...it would be fair to pick again until a number is chosen that someone actually picked. Otherwise you'll have over a thousand angry Arfcommers screaming for your head! CJ |
Geez, how'd you figure that out so fast ? If it's correct, then a run-off it is between those four fine individuals. So, next step is for those four folks to pick another number, post the one number and one number only here, without edits, and I'll hit the green button one more time. ML |
Awesome deal - thanks for making it happen. |
Mark, It is your contest (thank you very much btw!!), but I just read and re-read your rules and nothing is said about a "run-off" if a number is selected that no one has claimed. It isn't addressed at all. Wouldn't the equitable thing be to re-draw a new number? |
They, like I did used this link. Here Some really nice person decided to help you out. |
I thought you were rerolling if the number wasn't taken?? So everyone had another shot?? |
Awwww-Maaaaannnnnn! Im goin' back to sleep, this is gonna take forever....
I concur, plus, it will make it go faster and we can get on with things. I hit the green button again and it said ... 915 |
Well I gotta go to work so if 911 is drawn i wont be able to claim it till after 7:00.
Mike ETA: CRAP 4 numbers off, im going to work |
Damn, missed it by two.
Congrats DernHumpus or sleepercaprice1, may the best man win! |
Strategically, the best number to pick would be 500, because you have a better chance of being closer to any other number from 1 to 1,000.
That wasn't the number I was hoping for. You were supposed to pick 513. I guess you didn't get the hint. Seriously, thank you so very much for your graciousness and generosity! |
+1 to one of the two winners! Thanks to Mr. Larue. You are a very generous man!! |
Damn...
Not even close... I might as well eat a bottle of sleeping pills and wait for next month. There's nothing else to look forward to in Feb. to the winner...you lucky sob... Good night till March 1 |
Yes ... same here...Thanks a load!! |
So, again, we're deciding how to do this for all of eternity ... what about immediately giving them a number in order that they posted ... say dernhumpus posted first (1) and sleepercaprice1 posted second (2) ... we tell the number generator to pick a number between 1 and 2 ? ML ETA - I'm gonna need a nicley worded set of rules for next time as from next month on, no one gets quarter if they screw up. |
sounds fair........whomever is closer, wins......... hit the button!!!!1 |
Sounds fair to me....... thanks for the contest! |
It is your contest and entirely up to you. That idea sounds fair, since either way the two winners have a 50/50 chance of winning now, regardless of the numbers they choose (or are given). |
HEY....no sweat. Its a learnin process and everyone knew there would be kinks to work out. Theres a few weeks till the next contest..... |
Sounds like a good idea, and we/you don't have to wait around until the people who need to pick numbers sign back on and do anything. It's just cut and dry. |
You rock! |
Damn my number was 914 until I found out my husband had picked a number for me before I got up and I got disqualified. Close, but no cigar!
And certainly fair |
