My wife took the kids a few weeks ago to the local Air Museum at Dover and met a WW2 vet, I think she said he was 97 and just as spry as anyone. Getting hi fives from people and enjoying life, walking around just fine and all of his faculties intact.

We met another a couple years back at WW2 Weekend in Reading. He was 96 then I think. His adult kids brought him out. He was a bit frail, seated. I thi k mb in wheelchair but can't recall. We were all taking shelter under the wing of a big plane trying to stay cool.

IIRC he said he was in Operation Market Garden among others.
