a C8 is an awesome car that will blow the doors off nearly any car it encounters in a straight line or road course

I would take either of these.
I did the alignments for this guy for SCCA This one just dropped by to price some tires. |

"With the wide array of readily accessible ED medications on the market, why do old men still want vettes?"
This is exactly why formerly limp dick old farts are in the market! |

I did the Corvette thing early in my life, while I could still maintain an erection, for all the pussy that was fixin' to come my way. I looked forward to driving it every day. Now you couldn't chase me down and give me a Corvette as a daily driver.

$150k for a vette. Not a chance.
Drop $100-120k on a used F car and keep the rest for service. |

Quoted: 150k is 911 money View Quote This man knows Z06 is badass, but I wouldn’t spend that much cash on a Chevrolet. $150K gets you a 911 992S - $2500 tune gets you the exact same 0-60 and 1/4 mile as a C8 Z06. I was on circuit track last fall with a new C8 Stingray with about $15K in mods (suspension)….and slicks - the car did pretty well. I’d go that route if wanting a C8. |

Quoted: I'm old and the last one I rode in was like sitting in a reclining yard chair. Fall in and crawl out. Must be limber boomers buying them. View Quote Yep. My parents (now age 70) bought a C5 Corvette. My stepdad hated getting in and out of it. My mother bought a 1969 Chevelle SS as her boomer retirement car. They both hated their "fun" cars for different reasons. My stepfather hated getting in and out of the Vette and rarely drove it, and My mother hated the Chevelle for all the attention it got everywhere she parked. Random old dudes would come up to her and ask all sorts of questions about the car. She always responded with "I bought it and I drive it, that's all I know about the car." Both got sold after about 3 years. My mother upgraded her Daily driver to a Mercedes ML 350 Diesel after I talked her out of buying a Range Rover. She is now a happy one car person. |

I had a lot more respect for Corvettes when they were not trying to look like Ferrari.
Same thing when the MR2 ripped the Porsche Boxster off. Attached File |

I honestly think if I were going to drop 6 figures on a car, it would be a classic. The new ones are a ton of performance for the money, and will absolutely smoke the old ones in every conceivable way. But Mr. Jean Shorts & New Balance isn't tracking the thing, at least not in any serious way. I dunno, I'm not the target market either. |

For that price, I'd be looking at Porsche. I got beat by a good bit on that comment. Second, my friend recently traded a clapped out old minivan for a low miles C4 in good shape.

If the one on the left was a 2 door hard top, I’d take it over the C8. |

That said, some people still like shifting gears. A manual should be an option on a sports car. Like this: Attached File |
