If he needs the time off, she has to take leave time for it. As far as the fasting, I hope her job does not involve labor, she will be beat down not eating during the day.

No special treatment any different than any other employee.

If you have a Jewish employee or Christian employee they don't get special treatment for their holidays either.

I am Baptist and do not work nights, weekends or every other week, 2 weeks at Summer, 2 Winter, 2 Thanksgiving and Christmas. God said so.

Now does that answer your question? Only give what hand book you adopted by the officers of the company have signed off on. Don't give or make exceptions for others are they will have standing to sue.

If you have the ability, flex his time so that he starts work earlier in the day - like just after sunrise. That way he can eat just before coming in to work, do his 8 hours, and leave before he gets wobbly. This will also mean he can break his fast right at sunset. Most of those in the 'west' will try to keep as normal a work routine as possible. At least that had been my experience.

When the company I used to work for got a lot of Muslim employees HR quickly put out the policy that if they wanted to do anything religious they had to do it during break time like everyone else. They stuck to that policy pretty good until most of the muslims quit.
