.40... But I would like a 450/400 Nitro Express.

.300 black, .308 Win, and 30-06. But I would like a super fast 300 of some sort.

And anything short mag.

Just as noisy as a centerfire but more expensive with shittier bullets and ballistics. And not reloadable.

Poor?

I have an FN PS90 SBR with G5 can, a compact ACOG with a mount I designed for it and a Fiven-seveN pistol also with Gemtech can.  I like it as a shooter, but not as a defensive round.

I also reload 5.7x28–it’s one of my favorite rounds to futz & reload, but I learned early on, the faster you drive the non-fragmenting rounds, the less deep they penetrate & fly out the side of the target with minimal penetration.

BUT, if I needed a gun to defend myself, it would be one of the last choices, after a 5.56, or 7.62 AK, or .357 mag carbine, or .44 mag carbine, or 12G, or FAL, or, you get the picture.....hell, I prefer a 9mm or .45ACP to 5.7.

I’d take it over a .22LR, .32ACP or .25ACP, or .410.

357 sig. Lightweight bullets completely miss the mark of the 357 magnum.

10mm. Again, lightweight bullets, and doesn't even come close to comparison to true magnum calibers like. 41 or 44 magnum. You might as well carry a damn 40sw or a 9mm for what it's truly capable of.

I hate to say it but .45 auto has outlived its usefulness in the age of modern hollow points which give similar performance in smaller calibers.
