Holy shit, this looks epic! Can’t wait to see this.
Dune | Official Main Trailer |
|
I'm looking forward to this. I really hope it does well, as the second half isn't guaranteed, from what I've read.
|
|
Looks good. I've never read the books, and have only caught bits and pieces of the old movie with Kyle Maclachlan and Sting.
|
|
This is the first movie in years I'm excited about seeing.......this usually means it'll be a let-down. I hope I'm wrong.

Funny thing about the book. It was rejected something like 20 times, before finally being published by Chilton Books. Yes, that Chilton. The automotive repair manual people.

|
We know who Rabban is, but who did they get to play Feyd? It will be hard to top Sting

My 16 year old and I are very excited to see this movie.
Not as happy with this trailer as the others. Lots of action movie stuff....meh. |
|
That looks fantastic! Are they planning on doing this as a trilogy?

Jackson managed to take LOTR and turn them into great movies. (Before he dug up Tolkien's body and bent it over a table for The Hobbit trilogy)
So its possible to take a great book and make a great movie, but the odds are against it. Here's to hoping... |
|
I hope it doesn't suck. That trailer makes me want to go buy a fighting knife.
I've never read the book(s), I know people who have really slam the original movie. Is it worth reading, or do you already have the gist but the movie just sucked? |

That actress and that actor both suck. It's gonna be a pile of catshit.
|

Excited for it but concerned it will gloss over the more philosophical/political points. For instance, the dinner scene was scrapped from the movie which was an excellent part of character building. I'm 9/10 on the hype for this. I think it was largly be good and a success.
I want God Emperor next. Screw Messiah and Children. Let's get to the Golden Path |
|
Yesssssss I am so hyped for this.
I love the books I am a big fan of everything Villeneuve has done and his visual style The casting is great Soundtrack by Zimmer? yes please This checks all my boxes |

the beef I have with both trailers is that Chani would not have called him "Paul." She called him "Usul." Paul even mentions this in the first chapter, when the Reverend Mother is interrogating him, he says the girl in his dream said "tell me of the waters of your homeworld, Usul," and he muses that his homeworld is Caladan but maybe she's calling him Usul.
Also, Duncan Idaho was a VERY minor character. yet he shows up in most of this trailer. I hope they didn't rewrite the story to involve him more. |

Quoted: You do realize Dune predates Star Wars by a good 12 years, right? View Quote I read Dune in 7th grade. it BLEW MY MIND. It it still among the very best books (let alone sci fi books) I've read. This movie looks epic. What an amazing cast. And someone spent a lot of time and money on both digital and practical effects. I have not looked forward to a movie this much in years. |

Looks great.
Big cast Big environments and scenes Dune has always been one of my fav scifi’s. I will see it opening night at the theater and buy it streaming the same weekend. I built a new home theater just for this movie. |
|
It looks awesome to me. Hopefully, it's not some fucktarded sjw fest.

View Quote Idaho becomes somewhat more important later, I guess. I’m hot/cold on Villeneuve. Arrival was brilliantly made, Sicario was decent. Blade Runner 2045 was fucking awful (though that’s largely due to horrible writing). |

The best thing about the release of this movie is that my grandson will end up reading the books.
When we were in the bookstore getting him some books I showed the Dune series and his response was "never heard of it." But I did tell him he would come back in a few years and read the whole set. I just hope it's better than some typical movie adaptations of books. |

That looks very good, will go to the theater to see that for sure.
