This guy has an amazing toy collection from the 80s.
In each video, he goes over every shelf while playing small clips from the tv series/commercials. If you enjoyed this thread, you would love these videos. He's a bit cheesy but they're fun to watch. Can't remember what they were called but there was one I really liked. It was a base with a crank on it and gears inside. A wheel attached to the other side. You'd crank it up real fast and when you stopped the wheel would detach from the base and go like hell. Not to be used indoors as this wheel would go very fast while bouncing around after running into things and destroying all sorts of stuff in the house. I can only imagine how many asses were paddled due to that wheel. That was a damn fun toy.
Probably already mentioned in the thread somewhere, but maybe someone can help me remember. |

Quoted: Yep. At the time I was unfamiliar with the anime this design originally came from (Fang of the Sun Dougram) but I was very familiar with Battletech, so I thought it was a really cool Griffin toy. I ended up painting a little Federated Suns symbol on the leg armor of mine. Fortunately a quick trip to ebay shows a lot of them are available for fairly cheapish. My dream project is a G1 Megatron that transforms into a REAL 22lr single shot pistol. |
