The fact that the awards were announced over an hour ago and not a single person has commented on it is pretty telling.

AP Coach of the Year
Stefanski wins with more 1st place votes Kevin Stefanski 21-18-6 = 165 DeMeco Ryans 20-21-2 = 165 Dan Campbell 3-3-9 = 33 Kyle Shanahan 3-3-2 = 26 John Harbaugh 2-2-10 = 26 Sean McVay 1-2-10 = 21 Mike Tomlin 0-1-2 = 5 Shane Steichen 0-0-4 = 4 Matt LaFleur 0-0-2 = 2 Todd Bowles 0-0-1 = 1 Mike McDaniel 0-0-1 = 1 Sean McDermott 0-0-1 = 1 This one is iffy, too. COTY is often a "doing the most with the least" award, and the Browns have winners in 3 other categories this year. Purdy was discredited for MVP because the system he plays in is too good, but the coach that's responsible for that system also comes in fourth? And LaFleur might really be behind Ryans and Campbell in terms of overall story, but I think it's sad he only got 2x 3rd place votes with what his roster looked like and what he did with it. |

Analytics monster Aaron Schatz gave his first place vote to Josh Allen and second place vote to Dak Prescott. The EPA/play leader almost always wins the award. The leader this year, Brock Purdy, came in 4th. The disrespect is very real. Jackson is the worst winner I can think of. Bringing this back: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GBzK4HzWEAARfuQ?format=jpg&name=small Lamar finished with an EPA/play of .135. This is less than half what the MVPs above logged, it's behind Purdy, Dak, Allen, Tua, and Love, and it's basically even with Hurts, Mahomes, Goff, Mayfield, Stroud, and Stafford. The same people who thought Lamar was MVP at .135 didn't think Mayfield was CBPOTY at .131. In terms of the media’s narrative vs reality, I can’t recall a more overrated QB this century than Groot. His .33 EPA/play number in 2019 is outstanding, and he was worthy of the award. This year, the numbers clearly pointed to Purdy. If you want to discredit Purdy for whatever reason, Dak Prescott and Josh Allen are your clear next men up. If you want to change the award into a doing the most with the least sort of thing, he still doesn't win. There's another dude who had basically the same EPA/play and racked up more total yardage while working with a dysfunctional skill position group that led the NFL in drops. I understand the media hyping Lamar, and I don't mind seeing them moving him around the top 5 or whatever QB rankings on their TV shows, but giving him the MVP award after this season is absurd. The cutoff for the QB position to get the MVP should be somewhere around .2 EPA/play. If you can't get .2+ EPA as a QB, you're probably not the MVP, and the award should probably go to a skill position guy or a defensive player. How does that .33 compare to other unanimous MVPs? The only unanimous MVPs are 2010 Brady and 2019 LJax. Here's Brady's career: Click To View Spoiler Brady in 2010 was somewhere around .25 EPA/play. That's behind 2019 LJax by a good bit, but it's also only his 6th-7th best season. And since that chart is there... in 21 seasons, there are only about 15 dots or so above .3 EPA/play with 2-3 belonging to Brady. 2023 Purdy is .338. That's how good he was this season. |

Quoted: totally agree on that part I'm assuming she has to be able to suck start a harley. View Quote I don’t know why you’d assume that. She got her hooks into Mahomes early enough that there’s a decent chance she’s the only female he’s been with. Before they got married, she could have been dishing out subpar BJs and he’d never know the difference. |
