Saw some interesting stuff downstairs today. Couldn't walk all of downstairs, but we did as much as we could to 3 o'clock then bailed.
Huglu has a pump shotgun w/ proprietary furniture, but accepts 870 bbls, and one version uses the now standard MKA 1919 mags. Another Turk manufacturer has the 12 ga upper for the DPMS Gen 1. Two Turk companies have folding pump shotguns that would make damn handy truck guns when you pull the damn pump assist spring off the mag tube. Columbia has a handgun manufacturer that is going to import some S&W clones at S&W prices, lol. There is some really light Level 3 armor out there. |

The Magpul do everything mag counter optic was pretty cool. Laser rangefinder, ballistic computer including tilt angle, and round counter to include what's loaded on yer vest.

Quoted: Olympus Arms, with what they're describing as a recoil-less .308. Kind of an AR-10, but only by way of inspiration. The bolt lugs actually rotate inward. This thing is a trip. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/51536/A4B6235E-70DC-4296-B5B9-DDB1E58EF27B-2677391.jpg Oh! And it has an ambidextrous forward charging handle. That's easy to remove. Oh, and you can add a knob or something to it, if you want. They turn their own barrels from blanks, do all of their own machining from raw billet, etc. Currently they're manufactured in St George Utah, but I guess they're moving the whole operation to Montana. $4600 MSRP (I know, I know...). Available immediately. Dudes...I am sooooo enamored with thing. Basement SHOT Shot is best SHOT show! I'm actually going to return tomorrow, to take some video of this thing (not for the official Arfcom YouTube channel - I'm just going to do it with my iPhone, and throw it up on mine for now). There is sooooo much going on with this rifle, that you have to see - and let the designer explain. Oh, and I gave him my card, because I want a demo unit shipped to us. I want to review this properly. That design has to be shit for accuracy… I have shot it. And I was effortlessly banging headshots on steel at 100m. It is a pretty penny. But I'd spend the money on the Olympus Arms Vulcan before buying a Sig Spear 277 |

Didn't get to handle it since it was displayed in a plexi box: https://i.ibb.co/y8cLfCT/PMX12.jpg looks mostly plastic/polymer to me. I'm still curious about the mags. Are they proprietary or did they keep the B&T mag compatibility and simply design their own B&T compatible mag for it. |

Quoted: On the Grot, they're working on it is the response I got when I asked about it. The MSBS Grot was teased a few years back, it would be nice to see what's up. There's pics of it at their booth but haven't seen anybody saying they talked to them or got a date. Of course that VIS-100 I wanted came in a lot more expensive then I thought it would. On the Grot, they're working on it is the response I got when I asked about it. Never thought I’d want a Bear Creek AR. Guess I was wrong. This has been the best SHOT Show since 2007 in my eyes. I've been going since 2008-9? Of course missed this year as luck would have it. But from whats been released, this is definitely the best year I can recall in terms of cool new stuff. Especially for pistols. |

Quoted: Any more info on the Turk folding shotguns? View Quote I'll get some more info posted next week once I dig through my collection of cards. 2x manufacturers, identical pumps w/ the damn spring pushing the bolt home around the mag tube, 1x very similar auto, trunnion hinged just in front of the cartridge feed port, whole mag, bbl, bolt, and top of receiver hinge open and fold beneath the lower receiver and buttstock. Latch is at the upper rear of the receiver, slides back, action opens leaving the hammer exposed. Price was in the $200s, though that may be to the distributors. Looks as if you can leave the chamber and mag loaded while open. |

View Quote I really thought this was coming in under the radar as a hidden gem from the show. But at $3700 (50% more than a Rattler) it's clear they're not interested in selling any. |

Seemed like a decent show this year. For me the most interesting were Beretta's A300 combat shotgun, BRO's bullpup 308, and the Olympus rifle. I'm also wanting to know more about the Brigade Arms Makashi rifle.
The Grot has my future interest along with the Beretta APX. I was really hoping to see HK's micro compact pistol, but I'll settle for trying out Canik's. |

In the current climate of pistol braces and direction these pistol manufacturers need to get aggressive/competitive with prices and convince the general public that they have their place in your collection. I suspect the *tf may of crippled future sales. |
