Here's one that I made but could definitely use better layout work. http://i49.tinypic.com/spx5y0.png I'd remove the word "fascist". Why? Because, rightly or wrongly, that ideology has become associated with right-wingers. I'd just say something about oppressive governments in general. |

Alter the "shut up and take my money" with the constitution, and the word freedom.

This is Oleg Volk's work, iirc. http://thepatriotperspective.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/fists-world-without-guns.jpg Needs a link to Dave Kopel's A World Without Guns - To say that life in the pre-gunpowder world was violent would be an understatement. Land travel, especially over long distances, was fraught with danger from murderers, robbers, and other criminals. Most women couldn't protect themselves from rape, except by granting unlimited sexual access to one male in exchange for protection from other males.
Back then, weapons depended on muscle power. Advances in weaponry primarily magnified the effect of muscle power. The stronger one is, the better one's prospects for fighting up close with an edged weapon like a sword or a knife, or at a distance with a bow or a javelin (both of which require strong arms). When it comes to muscle power, young men usually win over women, children, and the elderly. It was warriors who dominated society in gun-free feudal Europe, and a weak man usually had to resign himself to settle on a life of toil and obedience in exchange for a place within the castle walls when evil was afoot. And what of the women? According to the custom of jus primae noctis, a lord had the right to sleep with the bride of a newly married serf on the first night — a necessary price for the serf to pay — in exchange for the promise of safety and security (does that ring a bell?). Not uncommonly, this arrangement didn't end with the wedding night, since one's lord had the practical power to take any woman, any time. Regardless of whether jus primae noctis was formally observed in a region, rich, strong men had little besides their conscience to stop them from having their way with women who weren't protected by another wealthy strongman. To imagine a world with no guns is to imagine a world in which the strong rule the weak, in which women are dominated by men, and in which minorities are easily abused or mass-murdered by majorities. Practically speaking, a firearm is the only weapon that allows a weaker person to defend himself from a larger, stronger group of attackers, and to do so at a distance. As George Orwell observed, a weapon like a rifle "gives claws to the weak." |

Anyone care to vet this one? I'm not certain about the Boston, 1774 portion; a brief search gave me the impression that was more about the Powder Alarm, which is a fair bit different from gov't officials showing up at a residence. The Hurricane Katrina reference is dead-on, based soley on what I read in 1 Dead in Attic. |

The Hurricane Katrina reference is dead-on, based soley on what I read in 1 Dead in Attic. There are videos from ABC news (not a well-known conservative mouthpiece) showing weapons being confiscated in NOLA. Pretty irrefutable. The redcoat thing was more complicated. As I understand it, there were laws enacted requiring arms and powder to be stored in the magazine, which was why the Brits not only thought they could get them, but felt safe in doing so. Of course, grade school was away back in the early '60s,s so I may be remembering incorrectly. |

Remember, they want "compromise"
Example 1: Smokers. a) We just want to put warning labels on the packages... OK b) We just want to put a tax on the cigarettes to offset health care costs... OK c) We just want to ban smoking at restaurants so non smokers can eat ... OK d) We just want to ban smoking at work... OK e) We just want to ban smoking at beaches and parks Example 2: Seat Belts a) We just want to pass the law for safety, you cannot get a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt, you have to be pulled over for something else, We will never pull you over for JUST not wearing a seat belt... OK b) You know what, we changed our mind. Now, we CAN pull you over JUST for not wearing a seat belt. They nibble here and nibble there until there is nothing left. |

We're fooked, because they're in charge of schools and that math makes sense to increasing numbers of people. |

I'm still trying to find some of the graphics from the original Brady parody site on FB... There were some good ones about Girls not needing guns because that's what Men were for, and similar topics.
Does anyone have those?

I recall the main image was some caramel skinned lady - can't find that one or the variants of it anywhere.

Thanks for this thread, I am definitely going to repurpose some of these as I have friends who feel the need to post silly anti rhetoric all over my FB.
