When I met her roughly forty years ago she was quite a specimen. It was in the early part of the day and we were just doing the load in to set up a show for that night. The whole atmosphere was really laid back and I have to say her people were just great folks. She wanted to get off the bus and everyone was warned NO CAMERAS. That was before cell phones so folks could let down their guards more. She stepped off the bus dressed in jeans and a t shirt, no makeup or anything like that. Let me tell you right now that she was probably more attractive that way than in her clown makeup on stage with Porter. She had some questions about the stage and the venue so a brief meeting with her, her people, and our people ensued. We all came away more or less under her power and gladly did whatever she asked. One simply does not say no to a woman built like that. Especially when she is one of the most charming women I ever met in the music business.

She always says she spends a lot of money too look cheap. I think she is incredibly talented. I read an article about how many songs she's written and produced across many genres of music. It's mind boggling. I don't doubt that if she wants to be on the cover of playboy she will be. Incredible business woman.

word on the street is that she runs Nashville like a mob boss. we have family in the rock music world involved with the recording industry and he has mentioned it.

supposedly no one gets a contracts in Nashville without her having something to do with it. she will actively intercede on artists behalf in a heartbeat. almost like a union/mob boss for the artists.

she is VERY PROTECTIVE of many artists, whom she considers family.

sort of like Ozzy and Sharon in some ways.
