because if the net weight hasn't changed, then how did the weiners shrink and weight the same?  unless they count broth weight in the net and they are putting in more water in the can to keep net the same.

can of vienna sausages.  used to be almost impossible to get the first sausage out since they were so closely packed together.  each tender formed meat tube would be squished into the other so tight that they would lose their extruded round shape.

now?  look at all the room.  perfectly round, plenty of room for the random animal protein cylinders to not touch.  I'm so disgusted that I almost didn't drink the juice out of it

yup, I've commented about that in the past to family.

what I'm looking for is stock photos of the exterior showing the net weight from the good ole days to today.

New pic, older can. I bet the water makes cheaping out on contents not change the weight.

i have a tin of those and half a roll of ritz for lunch about once a month. Also like sardines. I tried pigs feet but they were gross. Potted meat on ritz is good too.

I remember tearing up the middle one, trying to get it out of the can since they were packed in so tight.

I noticed Potted Meat, which used to be soft and spreadable when it was first opened and warm, and then got hard as a frigging rock when refrigerated and would tear up your bread, is now overly soft and juicy when warm.  I refrigerate them now before opening and they are the perfect consistency but don't rip the bread up.  They must have changed the lard content or something.

I keep those Armour cans by the case. I always throw a few in my pack when bowhunting or trail riding.

Only sucky part is when it's cold bowhunting, that water turns to gel.

I struggle through it.

Looking at Google Images (some of these pics have to be older), all are 4.6oz except for two store brands. One of those is 4 and the other is 5.

There smaller than they used to be and shorter. They come out easily now without messing the first one up, which is what happened before. They used to be packed in and came almost to the top. They are full of juice to the top, though and that's why the weight is still the same.

Mine from Aldis

What brand? There was always a difference in Armor and some of the store label brands.

You can always try comparing the food info labels (then versus now) to compare grams per serving and # of servings in the container.

So funny we've noticed products shrinking over time. Then while shopping at a grocery store we frequent We noticed their reusable bags were smaller than before compared to ours from that store. 1 weeks later the carts were brand new and smaller as well. I'm assuming it was to scale the bags and carts so you were still getting a " cart full" at the same price.

We don't shop there anymore lol

Crack the lid slightly and place the can directly into the coals. When all of the juice is boiled out remove the can from the fire and enjoy. They brown extremely well in their own juices.

Gross. Last port shoulder I bought cost $11. Not sure how many meals we got out of it but it was a lot. Whole cuts of meat aren’t priced much higher than they have been for the last few years. Whole hams, chickens, turkeys, pork shoulders and loins….bought fresh boneless chicken breast for $2.50 a pound all winter long. Same size they’ve always been and readily available everywhere.

Spend some coin on good cookware and a deep freezer. It will pay for itself in the first 3 months. Then you don’t have to care about shrinkflation, your food will taste good, and you’ll have a pile of money to buy guns with.
