Then I see memes like this and think "ok, maybe missing out on that experience isn't all bad"

ETA: Just to clear up any confusion, this post is an attempt to make fun of myself, not anyone who did serve

Having a red-faced maniac screaming in my face at 4 AM always seemed like sort of a downer to me...

How many jacks is this for you, Lieutenant?

Thirty eight... simulated.

How many combat jacks?

Uh, two. Including this one.

I never saw combat... but, here's a perspective from some friends of mine that have... they were never sure if they were coming back from a mission,  so take every opportunity you can because it might be your last chance.

Fear of missing out is a thing.  For every success story there’s a guy who looks forward to getting fucked by Uncle Sam.

Don't worry about it OP.  Besides if you had joined, you would never be able to mention how you would have punched a drill sergeant in the mouth if they got in your face.  You can still make that statement.

Of course they don't, if I was the kind of guy they wanted they'd have had me. But here we are and all I can do is post memes and raise my kids smart enough to not make my mistakes

I mean, I feel like some push-ups outside might work equally well, and you'd spare yourself the trouble of "cleaning up" with that TP that dissolves immediately

I talked to the marines after high school.  A buddy from wrestling was already in and he called me at the recruiting office.  I said I dont know about this boot camp thing.  He said it's no problem, its like a really long wrestling camp.  Um, no, I'm good.

I did remodel another recruiting office years later. You can't imagine the things I've seen.

I don't know, hmm

I can make it two or three days now, I couldn't at 20.  So, I never have.  I won't say it's never crossed my mind though.

Sometimes there's a medical reason to rub one out.

I had a buddy in 4-2 ACR that was having some prostate issues. Doc told him to punch the Pope at least 3 times a day. So we get on an NTC rotation and because of his "issue" he gets assigned to be a TOC bitch.

OC's are doing their normal back row hush hush scribble scribble and my buddy stands up and announces "well, time to go beat my meat" and walks for the nearest porta shitter. OC's are looking at each other like WTF?

About mid spanking, Dr Doom (CS trailer) rolls through the area and out comes my buddy, pants around his ankles, porn mags flying, and his mask on sideways.

Well OP my Daughter flys to Germany tomorrow after finishing Combat Medic school.

Two oldest sons served, but only did one enlistment, it's not for everyone.

Everyone has regrets, can't do shot about it but plan for tomorrow. Make tomorrow better than today.

Only man that can Male life great is in the mirror every morning.

Me I plan on meeting my daughter at the airport to give her a hug and wish her good luck.

Hell my son damn near killed himself in a mustang this week, he is alive and lessons were learned.

Remember it can always be worse.
