I forgot about this song. In music theory there are scales and old ancient Greek scales called modes. Some of them, especially the Phrygian mode is used in heavy metal guitar solos a lot.
There is one mode that isn't used at all, because it's so weird and atonal and you can't really make pop music from it. Bjork intentionally used this mode in this song, it's very bass-heavy and I think it's cool as hell Army of Me I remember listening to this song for the first time and thinking there was something very strange about it. |

Four pages and nobody has mentioned "The Joker" by Steve Miller. Gerald Johnson is an awesome bass player. And so fun to watch . . . upside down right handed bass and constant facial expressions, dancing around . . . I saw him play with Dave Mason at a tiny venue a few years ago. I spent the whole night watching him play.
