LOL at all the people saying they trust Cruz 100%.  You either trust someone or you don't.  So if Trump can't be trust that implies that you trust another politician 100%.  Cruz has lied and flipped flopped so many times that he is just as trust worthy as Trump.  In case you are in denial, last year Cruz said he was fiscal conservative but voted to increase the size of the government through deficit spending.  Then to make things worse he voted against an amendment that would have balanced that spending with other cuts.  He said he would audit the Federal Reserve so he could disband them, then he missed the vote on the bill to audit the fed.  Those are recent examples, not statements taken out of context from 17 years ago like people are doing with Trump.

A list of Cruz enemies too.  And Cruz was NEVER a DEMOCRAT, nor did he finance DEMOCRATS.  Keep telling yourself what you need to.  Cruz is the better candidate.  He certainly has more class as he doesn't walk around insulting everybody.  You want to vote for reality TV in the primaries your business.  Just quit trying to say Trump will do anything better as a president that Cruz would. Cruz has 1000x more street cred.

Then why isn't Cruz winning?

Because Trump is a bullshit artist and a closer. You have been closed.

Do what?  Lie, flip flop, change his priorities, call on religious leaders to fight but only for his religion while banning other religions?  Vote to expand the government?  Vote for more deficit spending?  Fight against gay marriage because he was given money by some gays, after which he dropped fighting gay marriage as a priority.  Yeah that is what you get with Cruz.

BTW, Cruz has no chance at all of winning the general election.  He simply can't do it because he doesn't connect with people.  He has zero friends in the Senate, everyone refuses to work with him.  He can't even get 20% of his own party to like him, yet some how he is going to convince centrists that he isn't that bad and they should vote for him?  Cruz won't even talk to groups with centrist views, so no they aren't going to vote for him.

This probably wont sway anyone, one way or another, but I will put it here anyway.

I know there is a bunch of Trump hate for various reasons, and that is fine (and funny sometimes), however his second amendment stance should not be one of them.

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/second-amendment-rights

- His second amendment stance was the second position he released, after his borders stance
- His sons go to shot show every year and are shooters and a big 2nd amendment supporters and have been for years
- He has been very vocal in supporting our rights since running, even when it was not popular
- He carries a pistol and has talked about it multiple times

Being cautious about ANY politician is a smart move.  If he tried to screw us, I think it would be far worse for him than other candidates.

Is he perfect? No

Can he be held accountable?  If he is elected, and there is a landslide conservative victory in the Senate and House, we have a good chance at holding everyone to a good set of standards.

Trump has been smart enough to surround himself with people that are smarter than he is, and I don't think that will change.

Again, ARFcom has never been able to predict any presidential election.  So if it seems like the majority of ARFcom hates trump, then he is probably very likely to be elected.

Why'd you duck out of the other thread after expressing support for universal health care, just like your pseudo conservative hero Trump?  You should probably be over there defending that stance instead of over here spewing nonsense.  Cruzs favorables are ahead of Trumps by a long shot.  Time to drop that BS line of attack.  Your fellow travelers should be able to give you some guidance on what half truth to spout next.

It is not what he says today, it is how he lived for 40 years.  He has supported and spoken multiple times being antigun.  Saying you are for 1 time so you can get elected is hardly worthy of praise.  Trump is not somebody you trust your 2A with.  He will make a deal for your rights when he think he needs to.  Good luck there.

Trump TALKS, he does not fight nor has he done a single thing for your 2A rights.

It won't sway any Trump haters.  Donald could have saved 5 people from the burning towers on 9/11 and they would say "what about the other 3,000.  Trump is a failure.".  That is how much they hate him.

They ignore his long time statements on gun control and claim he is anti-gun, when for 17 years he has acknowledged that criminals will always guns so everyone else should have guns to protect themselves.  There are several Republicans who still won't admit that.  Yet somehow the Trump haters claim Donald is anti-gun.

From 1999

PHILLIPS: Gun control? Where do you stand on that?

Mr. TRUMP: ...But the fact is, if you have gun control, the only people that are going to obey the laws, are going to be the good guys. So the bad guys are going to have the guns, the good guys aren't going to have the guns, and what good does that do us? So, I'm not in favor of it.

PHILLIPS: Are you a gun owner?

Mr. TRUMP: I have a gun, yes. I own a gun.

Hmmm, Trump is saying exactly what everyone on this site has been saying, gun laws only result in taking guns away from law abiding citizens.  That was 17 years ago when the Trump haters claim he was Clinton's bitch because they took a picture together.

A state election in a conservative state, that had a record conservative turn out that year, is not the same as a presidential election in a country that is divided as much as America is today.

Yea and 40 years of supporting ANTIGUN causes does not make a pro 2A politician????   Your logic fails you????  Putting that rubbish up about Trump being PRO because he says he is.

What about eminent domain, bankruptcy, universal healthcare, on and on?

Ah, I see you're a fan of the "gotta win the moderates and independents" school of thought.  Sure, let's try it again.  Worked great with Romney and McCain.

Instead of running a guy who isn't conservative because we think he can win, how about we try this crazy idea called "electing an actual conservative"?  There's one running and most people are busy fellating a reality show self promoter who spent decades backing liberals instead.  We are truly our own worst enemies.

When did Cruz do this.   How do you know he has no chance of winning the general election.  They said that in Texas too, all the GOPe with Dewhurst, he mopped the floor.

Maybe(this means exactly) they don't like him because he has stood up to clean some house.  Cruz is a constitutionalist and will talk with anybody within the confines of that.  You spout a lot of uneducated stuff about Cruz.  By and large Cruz has voted exactly like he has stated he would.  He made one deal and got burned, with Rand Paul and McConnell in exchange for bigger things.  He was burned.  After that you got jack.  Play chess not checkers.

Winning the moderates worked great for Reagan

The reason that Romney and McCain sucked is because they were boring, weak, milquetoast and stiff.

He has constantly taken a very public and unpopular stance (from a left standpoint).  I consider that fighting.

In case you haven't noticed most of the country is not like Texas.  The middle of the road voters that Trump appeals to will have nothing to do with Cruz because he pushes religious and social issues.

Rand Paul is a constitutionalist.  Ted Cruz just uses the parts of the constitution that match his views and ignores the other parts.  You know like the part that say no law should be made regarding any one religion.  Trump has the same problem on that issue.  They both want a religious test for Visas.

How am I spouting uneducated stuff about Cruz when you don't even know that he is calling on evangelical pastors?  What is uneducated?  That he voted for bigger government and deficit spending last fall?  It's true he did.  Then he voted against Rand Paul's amendment that would have offset that spending with cuts.  When Cruz started his campaign he said fighting gay marriage was a top priority of his campaign.  About 2 weeks ago after meeting with gay donors he said he would love his child if one turned out to be gay and that fighting gay marriage wasn't a high priority.

Romney and McCain would never "win the moderates".  McCain was too old and Romney was too Mormon-ish.   Sure maybe the GOP thought that they would for some reason, but the GOP is stupid.

If you want to win the moderates, have someone that has wrestled in the WWE.  That is how you win moderates.  Because most moderates only care about what entertains them and what is currently troubling them personally.  Moderates dont care about big issues or big values.

Well I have a life outside arguing on the internet with people who have closed minds.  Did Jesus not say we should be like the good Samaritan who helped a stranger, fixed his wounds, and paid for the room for his recovery?  Yes he did.  That is pretty much Universal Healthcare right that.  Also I didn't express support for it, which is why I specifically said in that thread "that doesn't mean we should have Obamacare or socialized medicine".  It means all the Christians on this site saying "fuck the poor I hope they die" is not "having a heart" or living the way Jesus taught.  Lot's of people love to bring up the bible about abortion and gays but then you ask them about taking care of people in need and you get the "fuck the poor I hope die" responses.

Polls, favorable, who beats Hillary...etc all that is bullshit right now.  If it was down to 2 candidates, Trump vs Cruz then the polls would mean something.  Those polls with 12 candidates on them have a margin of error of plus or minus 6% and all but 4 have under 6%.  It's useless data until the field is narrowed.

Trumps appeal crosses party lines.  So polling Republicans and claiming that it proves he will or wont' beat a Democrat is not accurate.  When has Hollywood ever said anything nice about any Republican candidate?  Never until Trump.  Take the Republican vote, add in middle of the road voters turned off by candidates pushing social issues, and add in 20% of Hollywood and Trump wins easily.  Cruz only has the Republican vote which failed both times with Obama.

Yeah I know.  I'm just trying to wind down before going to bed.  It's interesting that they don't know that Cruz was calling Evangelical pastors to fight for their own candidate, yet I'm the one that is uneducated.  I didn't start supporting Trump until early January.  I was giving Cruz a chance to show me what he was made of and convince me to support him.  That never happened and the things he started doing just pushed me further away.  If he would drop the social issues and work connecting with people better, then he would have a chance.  He's being doing the opposite of that though.

OP,
Not sure what you're talking about with "anti-Trump infiltrators".

I've seen 3 polls on here since November posted by 3 seperate members and without fail Cruz is favored by the members here 3:1 to Trump.

The most recent was just a couple days ago. I can't find the other 2 threads but I did screenshot them and as you can see, the results aren't that different:

Trump: When Audiences Get Bored I Use ‘The Wall’

Donald Trump told the New York Times’ editorial board that his go-to applause line for sleepy crowds is about building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

“You know, if it gets a little boring, if I see people starting to sort of, maybe thinking about leaving, I can sort of tell the audience, I just say, ‘We will build the wall!' and they go nuts.”

The latest Gallup polling disagrees with you (as did their past ones): Gallup: Trump Disapproval At Record 60%

Donald Trump has the highest disapproval rating of any major party candidate since 1992, a remarkable achievement for a candidate who is also a party front-runner, according to Gallup.

...

"The bottom line is that Trump now has a higher unfavorable rating than any candidate at any time during all of these previous election cycles, and that conclusion takes into account the fact that unfavorable ratings tend to rise in the heat of a general election campaign as the barbs, negative ads and heightened partisanship are taken to their highest levels," he added.

...

For comparison, said Newport, "Hillary Clinton currently has a 52 percent unfavorable rating among all Americans, while Jeb Bush is at 45 percent, Chris Christie 38 percent, Ted Cruz 37 percent, Marco Rubio 33 percent, Bernie Sanders 31 percent and Ben Carson 30 percent. Trump's 60 percent is clearly well above all of these. Putting his favorable and unfavorable ratings together yields a net favorable of -27 for Trump, far above the -10 for Clinton and for Bush, the next lowest among the major candidates."

And Trump fails there too while Cruz blows his doors off. I don't have the newest numbers from the latest Gallup poll I just cited (I haven't dug into the details of it to find them yet) but this was from their last one:

Romney and McCain would never "win the moderates".  McCain was too old and Romney was too Mormon-ish.   Sure maybe the GOP thought that they would for some reason, but the GOP is stupid.

If you want to win the moderates, have someone that has wrestled in the WWE.  That is how you win moderates.  Because most moderates only care about what entertains them and what is currently troubling them personally.  Moderates dont care about big issues or big values.

From 1999

Hmmm, Trump is saying exactly what everyone on this site has been saying, gun laws only result in taking guns away from law abiding citizens.  That was 17 years ago when the Trump haters claim he was Clinton's bitch because they took a picture together.

He just recently came out and said he'd look into no fly list gun purchase prevention. He has no idea how the 2nd amendment or rights in general work. This was months ago. He doesn't get it.

Listen, Trump isn't really a conservative at least not in the sense we've used the word for the past 30 years.  He's a protectionist nationalist.

Yes, he has supported some very stupid things in the past and probably still wants socialized medicine.  Do I agree with that?  No, of course not, and I hope the Congress prevents him from achieving that.  As for gun control, yeah, he was retarded in years past.  However, he's completely evolved on that issue.  His sons, who he works with everyday and who are intimately involved in his campaign, are both gun guys.  Don Jr. (who Trump has hinted at will be his Chief of Staff) is a huge gun nut and extremely pro-2A.  You have nothing to worry about with gun rights under a Trump administration.  I'll eat my hat if he flips on guns when president.  Hell, I've no doubt that Don Jr. will punch him on live TV if he does something stupid like that.

However, the #1 issue facing America are the hordes of third world border felons who have and continue to invade our country.  If we don't do something about that within the next couple of years, we won't have any kind of country I want to live in.  Millions and millions of poor, uneducated criminals who don't speak English and rely on the government for copious handouts and will undoubtedly vote Democrat at an astounding rate.  We must stop this and do everything we can to round them up and ship them back to wherever they came from.  It's the ONLY solution.

All of the other stuff is irrelevant compared to this.  WE HAVE TO STOP THE THIRD WORLD INVASION or we won't have anything left to protect.

WRONG

That is a PERSON showing compassion for a fellow human, NOT government doing it.  Jesus is all about the individual doing those things.

If you want to try and use Him to support Big Government, you may want to do a little studying of what He actually said and did before attempting it.
