After being asked if he needed to report a crime, the caller replied: "Yes, a crime. I want to report a crime. The crime is that Manchester United were absolutely knackered."

I had previously stated that I've never seen more than 1 minute, two at the most, at the end of the first half. Today, that was shattered with SIX minutes of extra time. You'll never guess who the team is.

I'd credit the United physios for cleverly dragging their asses getting Jones off the pitch (rather than the refs) for the 6 minutes after the first half.

2nd half was pure Fergie Time, though.

a much needed 3 pts.  Almost makes up for dropping points at the Bridge to the lowly Hammers...

Another great game from Eden Hazard. He has been impressive tonight

City really missed Aguerro. He wouldn't have missed what Dzeko and co have....

Defensively they missed Fernandinho just as much if not more.

Local paper moved a story last night for a late July game between Manchester City and AC Milan less than 10 miles from my house.  Should I go?

Two weeks after the world cup finals, I recognize it is a glorified friendly disguised as the "International Champions Cup" for the prospects.  But hey, it's better than the grid iron Steelers playing at Wembley no matter what.

Even they aren't playing for a trophy, the ball movement and shots on goal by world class players would give you new appreciation for the game.

just keep in mind you will be seeing a lot of "B" team players as most of the guys who had been on international duty at the WC will be sitting on a beach in Malaga, Spain.

More info came out today about the ICC.

July 26-Aug 4th.  Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma, Real Madrid, and Olympiacos will play in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and Miami and one more city they haven't announced yet.  Finals will be in Miami.

Don't know who is playing where, but if I can swing it I'll be going to at least one of the Liverpool games, even if it is to watch the second string guys.

AC Milan vs Olympiacos in Hartford, CT August 2nd, is as close as they are getting to me and that's still nearly 3 hours away.  Strangely nothing in Foxboro (Boston). That's a usual stop.

If those cities are correct, flights to any of the three would cost about the same for me (based on current prices). Hmm....decisions, decisions.

Too bad they aren't playing in Dallas or Denver.

not EPL, but just awe-inspiring nevertheless...

one defender grabs his shirt, the other tackles him.  and by tackle, i mean NFL-style...

hypothetical for the arsenal fans:

let's say that RVP gets (even more?) disenchanted with SAF-less ManUtd.
and perhaps Utd doesn't even qualify for UEFA CL, limiting his visibility.

does Arsenal (the club) welcome RVP back?
do Arsenal fans welcome him back?

it would solve the lack of striking options, by the way, so this is more than just remembering the good old days...

it was naive for Arsenal to play so high up; it's not like they didn't see what happened when Everton and Tot'num tried the same thing at Anfield over the past month.  it's one thing to have "an attacking mentality" but another thing altogether to throw caution to the wind and leave your back four up too high *and* completely unprotected by a holding midfielder.  it's not as if Mertsecker has the pace for that approach anyway.

it's like Wegner simply said, "meh, so Flamini is still suspended, we probably don't need that role on the field, what could possibly go wrong?"

kaboom.

perhaps they had one eye on upcoming matches...

Arsenal's next four matches

12 Feb - Man Utd (home)
16 Feb - Liverpool (home) FA Cup
19 Feb - Bayern Munich (home) Champions League
22 Feb - Sunderland (home)

Fulham up 1-0 over Man U at halftime.  .

That would be the icing on the cake of yesterday's win, but if Fulham keeps playing them defensively like this they're going to get scored on.

Second half looks much the same.  I predict a tie or Fulham loss, they're just not maintaining possession at all.

You can see the frustration of the players and managers faces.  It's awesome.  But...but...we're Man U!
