I moved from PA, where only state police could radar and only while stationary, to Tennessee where everyone has radar and it's always on even when they're moving.
My uniden R8 is hardly ever quiet as it alerts me to every cop within a 2 mile radius. What a wonderful device. At first I was wondering if there's way more cops here but it's simply a function of them all having rolling radar so it just seems like it. Only once in a while have I seen a cop without radar on or using instant on radar. I love this detector! CSB |

if you just drive the speed limit, you wouldn't need one. And we'd all be safer.

Constant on front/rear facing radar is the best invention ever.
Because you can see them miles away around corners and hills. |

The cops used to do the same in Delaware constantly have radar on. I called my V1 my "popometer".

Pretty sure radar detectors are illegal in TN.
Enjoy it though. |

BUT around here if you aren't pushing 35-50 in the 25 mph zones you have all the locals riding your ass. Giant straight roads at 25mph and the people that drive them daily have figured out a better speed. |

I’m a huge fan of my Escort Max
That in combination with the Escort app and Waze is like having a cloaking device. |

Well dang, Off to get one then.
I have thought they passed the law banning them years ago. Thanks. |

Agreed. a simply amazing detector!
The directional arrows are also a plus. AoD |

Wife and I are happy with our Radenso DS-1's.
We learned back in the 80's, how to tell where RADAR was, when it was just a front antenna. If Radenso ever stops sucking the .mil money cock long enough to get Theia into the wild, I'll buy one of them. Jay |

There are smart cops out there laughing at this thread. They flip their detectors on/off.
They don't realise the people paying attening get random blips of Ka band and react accordingly. I have dozens of these types of encounter on my dashcam. Pass a cop and he instantly puts his radar on hoping to have a reason for a stop. |

max 360 checkin in!
there must be another band they run, cuz i know i’ve been gunned before and it NEVER went off/alerted me to it. justin, you finna get a jammer too?! lol |

Yep, R8 is legit. R7 does a phenomenal job and even my old R3 although when I get into my vehicles with the 7 & 8 I miss the arrows. My V1 had me spoiled with those arrows already though!

I got more tickets when I had a radar detector than all the time I haven’t, or it’s because I was young. I’m blaming the radar detector though, because it’s 2024 and everything is something else’s fault.
Anyway, most of the cops here don’t have radar, and when they do traffic they use a laser gun… Which are fun to play with if you do a ride along. |

I love my V1. I really need to upgrade to the latest hardware one of these days.

Radar detectors are still a thing? I don't think I've seen one since the 1990's.
