Dass it.

Depends. For general issue, the A1 was pretty on the money. I would update it with an A5 stock and free float it, but that's about it.

I'm going to leave the one's blank where I don't think it matters much so long as it is quality.

13.7 pinned noveske infidel
or 10.5 criterion hybrid sbr for suppressor.

otherwise the basis for a great gun is a lightish gun with a good trigger free floated quality barrel and a 4x or 3x acog.

no sr15 no care

and with that said

i mostly use a 11.5" sr15 mod 2 with a full size surefire can and an LPVO

second most used is a 16" sr15 mod 2 without a can about 80% of the time with an LPVO for 3 gun and dickin around.

My perfect set up is a 14.7" with pinned QD suppressor mount, mid-length gas, m-lok rail, light, prismatic sight (I have astigmatism) or LVPO, and a sling.  I can make hits out to 600 with that or clear a house if needed (it's not).

ETA:
For my personal go-to set up
Lower Receiver: BCM
Upper Receiver: BCM
Barrel: 14.7 LW midlength gas
Handguard: M-lok compatible (take your pick of manufacturer, I use Midwest)
Muzzle Device: YHM QD flash hider
Stock: BCM
Grip: BCM
Buffer Tube: mil-spec 6-position
Buffer: Damage Ind. H-weight
Buffer Spring: Damage Industries chrome silicon
Bolt Carrier Group: BCM standard mil-spec
Charging Handle: BCM mod 3
Trigger: BCM PNT, ALG ACT, Larue MBT, Geisselle SSA
Bolt Catch: mil-spec
Mag Release: mil-spec
Trigger Guard (if applicable): BCM
Optic Mount(s): Larue or ADM
Optic(s): Primary Arms or Aimpoint
Magazine: PMAG or mil-spec
Light: Surefire scout or Insight
Sling: Haley slick
Additional Rail Mounted Accessories: BCM foregrip
Additional Non-Rail Mounted Accessories:

16” barrel. Don’t care what the hive says. I can do everything from CQB to shoot and score reliable 300m hits standing with one.

If I were to upgrade one and only one thing on a stock AR, i’d Throw a 3.5lb trigger in it.

Looks are subjective.  Truth is, a CWAR is a great general purpose rifle.  Relatively lightweight, rugged optic (Trijicon TA33) with great eye relief and decent magnification, free floated accurate barrel, strong yet light rail (G mk4), collapsible stock, Geissele SSA-E trigger.
