View Quote So what happened to them? Was in central Texas about 20 years ago. Made it a point to go on a little wilderness trek, with the Express purpose of spotting a horned toad. Or perhaps a rattlesnake. We have rattlers here, but wanted to see a Western DiamondBack. Didn't get to see either, but did get to see a road runner. I asked around, no one I spoke to knew where to spot a horned toad. |

Quoted: My grandfather qualified for that. Lied about his age to enlist in the Marine Corps is 1945. Used the GI bill to attend the Citadel and commission in the Air Force. Was both an F86 Sabre pilot and some sort of "Combat Controller" type role in Korea. Flew the F4 Phantom in Vietnam. He also was heavily involved in the bombing of Laos and Cambodia, often doing "off the books" flights out of the Philippines that he never talked about till the 1990s. He won the Distinguished Flying Cross twice, once in Korea, once in Vietnam. My father and I have most of his medals, his Class A uniform, and his helmet from his F4 Phantom days.
