Always like the tether ball set up in our backyard.
If I couldn't play with somebody, I could play with myself. And btw, bring back the bush; at least some. |

Quoted: I remember doing a google search for "vintage playground equipment". Some of the stuff seemed absolutely insane. Metalworks 20 feet high for climbing and swinging. Must have been some crazy times. I took my niece to a park a while back. Before she became an asshole, I got involved in her play. She was having fun watching me go down the things. Every time, she wanted me to "go faster!" Well, on my last run, I used the support rails to launch myself down the slide. I ended up catching my pinky between two rollers and tore it off at the second knuckle. My niece freaked the hell out. My sister was bitching about how she got traumatized, or some shit. They were able to attach it, but it's not really useable. |

Yeah, they were brutal. I saw a lot of injuries on the one on our school's playground, but nothing too significant. |

That particular one has been neutered. The play was to get up to max nominal rpm, then one astronaut would stay at the levers to maintain what speed he could while everyone else climbed into the center grate. Then on a short count all would scramble to the very center and it went to overdrive. Like pulling in you arms and legs on on a spinning office chair, but 8-9 kids on a 12' death wheel. For some reason the thing got removed shortly after that. |
