Are you enjoying the multiculturalism, consumerism, and moral relativism that had replaced a peaceful, functional society? Hey, at least we get a new iPhone and 10 Marvel movies a year out of it.

Are you are arguing that fining, imprisoning, and enslaving rebellious dissidents is not an effective means of stabilizing a society?  I would argue the opposite.

You are basically arguing against prison, any while prison has numerous failings, it does keep people proven to be dangerous out of common society.

Man's inventiveness, and the desire to always better the human condition have made life way too fucking easy.

It used to be that mankind's main occupation was keeping food on the table.  Nobody had any spare time to worry about stupid shit like being born in the wrong body, or being attracted to the wrong gender, or being the wrong species.  The primary focus was in feeding oneself, and the most efficient way to keep oneself fed was to form groups of nuclear families, and start popping out children to increase the available labor pool - because there was always plenty of hard, back-breaking labor that needed to be done.

Civilization as we know it today has made the need for the nuclear family, the tight-knit community, and the ever increasing labor pool obsolete.  If you think of any hard labor job that needs to be done, there's a machine available to do it better, quicker, and more completely than a man can do it.  The guys and gals that produce our food have become so good at it that calories abound.  I was in the grocery store earlier, and the vast majority of shoppers would have been at home as circus freak fat ladies and men a hundred years ago.

There have always been those with mental weaknesses or deficiencies, but because their lives were just as hard as everyone else's, they had to force their deficiencies into the background or they would simply not survive.  Our relatively newfound ease of life allows these mental weaklings to thrive.  Add to this the revolution in information technology, and not only can these weaklings thrive, they can search out others with the same weaknesses, and join together to reinforce their anti-survival beliefs.  And life has become so easy that being anti-survival doesn't actually mean that you die.  It just means that the rest of society picks up the burden of keeping you alive.

As an adjunct, advances in medical technology and pharmaceutical science have allowed even the most anti-survival cretins to live far past the point where natural selection would have removed them from the gene pool.

Socialism, communism, whatever -ism you want to name; these are just symptoms.  The real disease is just that humankind no longer has any meaningful struggles that must be fought for the species to thrive.

This.
It is the nature of things that a noble enterprise founded by dedicated, moral people, will devolve into a mass of bureaucracy that is corrupt, promises an easier path, and serves only to protect itself and increase it’s own size and power.
Happens in corporations, churches, and especially governments.

It’s pretty simple, and obvious.

China/Russia/Iran over social media tricked a bunch of gullible liberals into believing conservatives were their enemy.

Then, China/Russia/Iran over social media tricked a bunch of gullible conservatives into believing liberals were their enemy.

It was like Gandalf tricking the trolls.

The social fabric is now torn, and a divided country cannot stand, or at least not as successfully as a cohesive country can.

Pretty much everything else mentioned in this thread so far are symptoms or things eliminated with the checklist using propaganda, manipulation, and divide and conquer techniques.

We were warned, and there's not really anything left on the checklist.  We're in the end game of the fascist world order and nearing the depopulation stage.     Anybody trying to tell this warning prior to y2k was laughed off as "paranoid nut" and some even still do, the social programming for that mocking dismissal runs deep.

Many of these goals were circulated as warnings back in the 1800s as "Goals of the Illuminati" (though a different name for the same group, sometimes secret groups within freemasons, other times banks and bankers, but the concept of "The Elite" is the same in all of them)

1. U.S. should accept coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. should be willing to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

These encapsulate the Kennan Doctrine, which advocated for the "containment" of communism. Establishment figures supporting the amoral containment policy at least implicitly worked with the communists in scaring the wits out of the American people concerning atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the U.S. would be a demonstration of "moral strength."

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extend long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China and admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the Germany question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the U.S. has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the U.S.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations that are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings," substituting shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. " Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24.Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural and healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

This has been largely accomplished through the communist infiltration of the National Council of Churches, Conservative and Reform Judaism, and the Catholic seminaries.

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state"

Replacing belief in the creator with belief in the earthly man-controlled State.

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

And replace our nation of "laws, not men" with royal decree emanating from appointed judges and executive orders. Replace elected officials with bureaucrats.

30. Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special interest groups should rise up and make a "united force" to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally Reservation so the U.S. cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.

The Illuminati must have had a magic crystal ball in the 1800s to have foreseen the Panama Canal and the many other items on the list that occurred in the 1900s.

Lack of a moral compass.
This could be religion or belief in a higher being or something else within people to treat others as you wished to be treated.  Or just be kind and give a little grace.

Greed, coveting others property, disengenuiness, marital issues outside of marriage, all can be traced to a lack of moral compass.

You can argue against this, but really you are making excuses to justify something.

I believe it’s an effort to bring in a global government/ new world order.

We are flooding this country with millions upon millions of migrants from every continent in the world. Our politicians and media hoist up gays, minorities, and any other fringe group to make them appear to be far more prevalent than they actually are.

We no longer have anything in common, and have become several different clusters of people, and no longer the American people. That makes us less willing to fight or vote against issues that are actively weakening America.

There will never be a global government/ new world order until the USofA is on board. That’s my tinfoil theory at least.

Multi culturalism, government policies that favor corporations over families.  The church imploding from incompetence from within and hatred from outside.

Communist capture of the democratic party and substantial influence over the Republican party.

That just for starters.  There's a lot more that goes into the destruction of America.  Most Americans are so stupid they embrace the destruction of their own culture without knowing it.

Satan.  Every day people find new ways to outright reject God.  Eventually he's going to say to our country - "if this is how you want it then so be it" and will stop holding back the evil powers and principalities and people in this country.

I’ve read plenty. There’s a point here most miss. Being Christian doesn’t equal moral. Nor does not being Christian equal immoral. But every time this comes up the first thing said is well cause no god. Plenty of instances over time that show the crap man does in the name of god.

To hang the hat of past events on God doesn't really fly. Everyone loves to point out the Spanish inquisition. It wasn't carried out in the name of God, it was carried out in the name of the crown under the guise of God.
People 100 years after our fall will be able to look back and say Nancy Pelosi and Biden were Christian therefore it's thoss damn Christians fault!

Nah.

Indoctrination has taken the place of education and partisan propaganda has become a substitute for what was once called news.

I just washed an excellent video essay that analyzed "Idiocracy" from the perspective where the chief sin was the delegation of ones moral obligation to think for oneself to an outside person or institution. It really reminded me so well of so many discussions here.

Found, thanks to the search feature in youtube's watch history.

It adds some additional interesting layers of thought on top of the social-media focused discussions as presented in "The Social Dilemma" and much of Jonathan Haidt's recent work.

The moral obligation in question is part and parcel to the healthy functioning of democratic system, and all but irrelevant to an autocratic one. So, looking at "millenia" of anything in Asia is starting with a foundational misconception of the point.

Asian democracies? Sure? Let's talk. Same issues. Popular Asian uprisings? We can talk as well, and about popular ideologies that do just that, and usher in the likes of Mao, Pol Pot, and Kim Jong Il.

Lots of slow-burn contributing factors were already simmering, but this SOBs role should never be forgotten. I truly believe he hated the existing social construct and preeminent position of the US, and was hell-bent on bringing the country to her knees before the rest of the world. The damage he did in such a short period of time will take generations to set right, if in fact we're ever able to do so.

I rarely wish anyone ill, but in his case I'll make an exception.

The point is that many people say it’s “turning away from God” or some derivation.

Pelosi, Biden, AOC all believe in God.  Yet they are more divisive than anyone.

So whatever it is, it’s not lack of God.  They have God, and it hasn’t helped.

we are seeing the fruits of decades of social engineering.

20 years is approximately 1 generation.

everyone gets a medal, everyone is special, words are violence, boys can be girls and girls can be boys, etc. This was planned.

They think (mistakenly in my opinion) that when it does finally implode, they will be the ones to decide how to rebuild.
I think they get put up against the wall first.

There is no singular factor, and the roots have been laid far further back than only 2 decades. There may be some recent acceleration, but this is something that has been trending in the same direction for a long time.

Some things that I see:

Shamelessness
Certain behaviors used to be discouraged by society through the mechanism of shame. This has largely been eroded - while people certainly still care about what others think of them, it's not in the same way that it used to be regarding negative reinforcement.

Isolation from hardship
People have become increasingly isolated from harsh reality. They think that not being able to afford a big-screen TV in every room is being "poor". They think that getting called bad names is violence. Beyond becoming complacent, an increasing number simply have no conception of how life was lived for literally thousands of years prior to the current era.

Loss of historical perspective
Going along with the last point, people have lost all historical perspective. Consider how often something like bad weather will be sensationalized as "the worst X in 10 years" or some similar period of time that is laughably short on historical scales. Many people think that these local minima/maxima are actually global, as they fail to consider the bigger picture across more than their own lifespan. This has also produced many failings within the business world, as actions are based more and more on short-term targets with blatant disregard for long-term impact.

Entitlement
There is an immense sense of entitlement throughout current society. Many here will be quick to say that it's only on "the other side", but that's bullshit. It's everywhere - it just takes different guises and uses different language depending on the group.

Lack of consideration
What necessarily is a component of entitlement is also a broader issue, which is the lack of consideration for one's fellow man. One of the things that is supposed to distinguish a civil society from the raw state of nature is this type of consideration - not merely looking out for your own interests alone, but also considering how those actions affect others, and trying to minimize any negative effects there. This can be somewhat boiled down to the "golden rule" - treating others as you would want to be treated. More and more this has gone by the wayside in favor of self-interest above all else.
