One end is brass (which would be very intentional) and looks to be rather beat up (which would indicate some sort of impact)

I don't what that is exactly. But if I owned it I would use it for making/sizing rings.

If you look closely, the holes in the two "collars" (though there is only a relief cut to look like separate pieced) they do not go into a hollow space. These are rather shallow holes. This means that the thing is quite likely not hollow.

You haven't returned to this thread. But, I have a few questions: Do you know if it is hollow or solid? Are the holes around the two "collars" they shallow as I suspect? Are there two holes on the end of the taper or just one through hole? If only one, does the hole appear to be tapered slightly? Do you know if there are any other parts that fit onto the thing? |
