I have something similar to photographic memory when it comes to special awareness and directions.

If I have ever been somewhere or seen it on a map in relation to other places I know I can see it as a 3 dimensional space in my mind.

Owners will lose themselves folding money trying to save pennies. They will ignore the advice/warnings of technical experts, then blame them after shit melts down. Generally they will also manage to denigrate and piss off the people on the floor who do the work and make them money.

Faked it 'til I made it. In middle management over about 50 people. Have an interview in a few weeks for a director position. I'll be over about 1000 people. If 'they' think I'm ready, I will continue to fake it until I make it again, until they put me in charge of 10k people.

Made a boatload (25+ years) of CAD drawings with VersaCad, an ancient CAD program.
Totally enjoy, totally relaxing to make a drawing / design devices, either stand alone or added to existing equipment.
Creating PLC programs, unfortunately my workplace shifted away from machine building, probably been at
least 5 years since I sat down and made one of any length.

As a young man I learned to rain artillery, mortar and naval gun fire upon my enemy and had a working knowledge of CAS, after that got a industrial maintenance degree and fixed stuff, now I build stuff in my garage during the day between naps and episodes of blue bloods.

Seriously, though - this is what ADHD people are built for. I remember being like eight years old and reading encyclopedias for fun. Learning things and getting better at stuff is the only real enjoyment I get.

In my office right now there is a gaming PC, three or four flying wings, a half dozen FPV drones, two vinyl cutters, a couple of 3D printers, a metal lathe and mill, a full photography studio packed away (including photo printers), a heat press, a sublimation printer, a HOTAS + VR setup for flight sims, an electronics workstation complete with a small reflow oven, and a pair of reloading presses. That’s the shit that’s not packed up in storage at the moment.

Basically… just give me a problem and leave me alone for a while, and I’ll figure out a way to solve it.

Retired land line telco guy - most of the critical skills I had are obsolete.

Except maybe connecting fiber optics to stuff to make internet happen.

Started off with a $1.00 rummage sale Tru-Temper axe head. Got happy with an angle grinder & cutting wheel. Then a little over zealous with a flap wheel. Sliced a Cherry wood 4x4 to fab the handle. Overall length about 21 inches. Not particularly useful for wood cutting.
