Quoted:No kiddin. I just wish I could read the secret staff thread about it
View Quote You can't even imagine. Like I said, the rules don't apply in the staff forums and it's as close to the brotherhood of the US Navy's Chief Petty Officer Mess (Goat Locker) - the place where the Navy's senior enlisted supervisors gather and eat - as you can get without getting haze grey and underway. I've never met face-to-face with any of them but they're all stand-up men if nothing else. |

The NRA will adapt, or die. It was THEIR IDEA. NRA Immediately offered up a Bump Stock ban to Trump after the shooting, Trump said he thought it interesting, then it blew up. NRA Bans bump stocks at it's own range Oct 5, 2017 NRA Banned bump stocks at their range PRIOR to the LV shooting. Coincidences, all random coincidence. |

You don’t buy a dash mat to protect a new dash, you buy it to cover up your old cracked dash. |

Maybe the NRA should give worthless fucking embroidered dashmats out instead of worthless fucking embroidered bags. Or....OR they could go full retard and have red flags embroidered on the worthless dashmats.

This forum is amusing. People just get...so wound up. Here's something for everyone to get all up in a tizzy about: At the age of 10, you follow your parents to Mongolia. It's 1995, so it's still a third-world shithole. Winters average a low of -37. It doesn't matter if it's Fahrenheit or Celsius, because when you get down that far, they're both about the same. Heating is central. Sometimes the whole city of Ulaanbaatar loses it. And sometimes it's in the dead of Winter. This, by the way, also brings the hot water offline because the same source heats that as well. You're there as an American and a lot of the people who know this like you. After all, America is the shining example of what Mongolia aspires to be. But there aren't a lot of Americans there. There are a lot of Russians, however. Do you think the locals can spot the difference? It didn't take long for me to realize the answer to that: They can't. And how the locals hate the Russians! You, as a child, will spend a good portion of your time outside getting into rock fights with the local kids, having them try to jump you, chase after you, etc... Oh and one time in 1999, you're going to get hit in the back of the head with a chunk of a brick. It's going to be quite bloody. This won't come to an end until May of 2000. You will finally be able to return to the United States. Then, and only then, will you properly understand the true definition of "first world problems." So for the masses of everyone here who are all worked up about the NRA, bumpstocks this or that, FDJT, whatever... You may not realize it, but most of you have it pretty good. Now since this is Arfcom GD, behavior and responses will be very herd-like. So I will preemptively respond. TL;DR: That was too long for you to read? Do you think that is an issue with you, or with me? CSB: That's not how I see it, but do you have a better one? Also, I think the above is more of a summary. Did they make fun of your stature? Holy hell, that was hilarious.
Arf is great. You copy pasta the thread you did here, or all new text? |

I won't argue with that. I recall him trying to extend help for forum members who had setbacks in life. But the high-handed arbitrary way that some of The High Road mods would constantly ban people was beyond ridiculous. A bunch of those same mods were included in the lock-out. https://www.myinstants.com/media/instants_images/nelson.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

You know what's really crazy? Anybody else see the now nuked thread where Beekeeper apologized and started unlocking all the members he locked for NRA bashing? He started a thread, said we had the right to discuss it and asked for any names he forgot so he could unlock them too. Goatboy locked and then nuked the thread. True story. View Quote |

The real takeaway from this thread is that we need to ban the 24/7 threads. Aimless is the PewDiePie of Arfcom. We can't have him become number two. It would throw off the balance of things.

Further, he called into question the real reason for a specific member's banning only to have it alleged that his own words proved otherwise. These are all allegations of course so who knows. Seems like with the curtain pulled back confidence in his abilities to perform has assigned duties might need to be restored. |

The good here outweighs the bad by a long shot, and it appears the actions of the NRA are now being seen as detrimental to our common cause by the majority of members, mods, and staff. At this point I think we're mostly hashing out how to best let the NRA know their actions won't be tolerated by a relatively small yet important group within the gun community.
It's tough to fairly moderate these debates when emotions are running high on all sides, mods and staff included. |

View Quote The other people in the thread told him to back off, which he did, and I let it drop rather than bitching up the chain of command about his behavior. If he was going to drink heavily he shouldn't have come on the Site wearing his "Staff" hat. Unfortunately it's one of the curses of running a volunteer based organization. |
